Part 1: By Sela's Son
**Kedanya Bridge**
Wes exited his ready room, and nearly ran into a Penguin. Wes raised
an eyebrow, it was a LARGE penguin that looked it was an image from 21st
Century computers.
"Hello I'm Tux, I'm one of the captains under Sela's Son."
The Penguin... could... talk..... and he... worked... with Sela's Son.
"AAAAAAAAUUUUUUURRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!"
**SA'TOTH (Original**
Alt Sela's Son scratched his goatee. Attacks in the Alliance were going
well. He was a rising star in the Rebellion. Not only had he captured the
Sa'toth, but he had captured a few Husnock vessels from (his) mirror Universe.
His plan to replace Sela's Son had failed. Berkie escaped with his life
and had damaged Kedanya. Berkie killed a number of people, including an
important personell. He'd dispatch one his Husnock ships crewed by Humans,
a few vulcans and some other personell sympatheic to the Rebellion. He'd
try Diplomacy to... manipulate Kedanya on the other side. The Rebeliion
was now cross dimensionl, it had contacted a few timlines which were severly
different (2 of which had no intelligent life in the quadrant and few M
class planets, but full of Resources. Another had intelligent life, but
were all extremly isolationist and had made a clear statemnt that any ship
entering thier terrirtory could and would be destroyed. Another one had
a few M Class planets which were used as light colonies for refugees and
civilians that were in hostile areas.
**KEDANYA**
A man stepped off a transport. Mr. Morden had work to do. He hid his
Telepathic screening device in his shirt. He had filed meetings with all
representiives of each species and the station's commanding officer. He'd
ask each "What do you want?" and see who could be manipulated for his Associates'
goals. First he'd talk to the Klingon Representitive.
*MAR'TOK'S QUARTERS**
Sense it has been a few weeks after the confrence Mar'tok would soon
leave. Kedanya would still be used as a Diplomatic meeting place for all
the species. He had one more meeting before he left. Right on time Mr.
Morden walked in wearing a suit (not a tux, but a suit).
"Hello I am Mr. Morden."
"I am Chancellor Mar'tok. What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to talk."
"Well I am a busy man you best get going."
"What do you want?" asked Mr. Morden.
"For you to leave!"
Mar'tok headed towards a turbolift who was followed by Mr. Morden.
Annoyed, but restraining self he entered the turbolift still followed by
Mr. Morden.
"What do you want?" Mr. Morden asked again.
Mar'tok was about to beat Mr.. Morden up, but he said.
"Halt Turbo lift. You want to know what I want? I want no Jem'Hadar
to ever again see production. I want no Jem'Hadar to be alive! I want the
Founders to pay, and thier puppets the vorta to pay as well! I want the
Klingon Banner, if not the Klingon, Romulan and Federation banners to fly
OVER the Founder Homeworld! That is what I want. I doubt you could get
it for me. Resume Turbolift!"
Mar'tok left. Mr. Morden left and went a diffrent direction. He smiled.
The Klingon would be manipulated VERY easily, his anger was strong. He
entered his quarters and sent a message.
**GAMMA QUADRANT, SECONDARY SUPPLY DEPOT**
A Vorta checked looked into his headset. He watched the three Jem'hadar
Fighters Fly in perfect formation. Then something appeared. It was Jet
Black and looked like a spider. Two more appeared. Suddenly one opened
fire on a fighter simply slicing it in half. The Jem'hadar fighters were
destroyed before they new what happened, and then the three ships closed
in one the depot. No signal could be sent, as jamming begain right before
the ships appeared. Afterwards nobody survived and ntohign remained. The
ships would leave little and no identity as to who attacked.
Part 2: By Captain Pizman
**KEDANYA--NEAR DIPLOMATIC QUARTERS**
One down. Mr. Morden continued to walk through the station, trying to
find other suitable candidates.
He almost ran into a yellow-faced man in the hallway. This one looked
promising. "What do you want?" he asked.
The man frowned. "Why do you ask?" he replied with an edge of suspicion.
Aha. This would indeed be a good subject. Again he asked, "What do
you want?"
The man flushed green. "What I want," he said, with the slightest edge
of hatred, "is my homeworld's government to collapse so that Relmaz the
Great can give the people of our galaxy--unfortunately in another universe--the
freedom they deserve. Only Carjans get full first-class citizenship. The
rest deserve more!"
Mr. Morden took note of that. This would be trickier, but possibly
more rewarding.
**RELMAZ--BRIDGE**
It was the night shift. Only a helmsman, a navigator, and tactical officer
Velgan were present with Pizval on the bridge. Pizval himself was seated
in the center chair, waiting for something--he didn't know what yet--to
happen, and he'd be ready for it.
"Sir!" It was Velgan. "There seems to be a spatial rift opening. Bearing
zero-four-eight mark seven."
"On screen." Sure enough, it was a rift, and it was growing larger.
And out of it came-- "It appears to be a Karemman freighter," reported
Velgan. "No, scratch that...the power curve is wrong. It..." He turned
to Pizval. "It matches that of a standard Carjan cruiser. Like our own."
Pizval sprang from his seat. "A government cruiser. Go to red alert."
Klaxons started whooping in the background, and red lights started to flash.
"Best evasive, helm. Velgan, target weapons and fire. Full power."
"Aye sir." Torpedoes swarmed out and took the enemy crusier by surprise.
"Direct hit, sir. Their shields are at 45 percent."
"Good. Continue maneuvers." A multiple phaser blast at close range
collapsed their opponent's shields.
Just then, Pizman and Solek emerged from a turbolift. Pizman saw what
was happening onscreen, and said, "I think that's enough shooting, Commander.
Tactical, hail the ship."
"No! They can't be allowed to live, supporting the government as they
do. Tactical, keep firing!"
"Brother!" Pizman was shocked with his brother's behavior. "What are
you saying? Enough is enough!"
"Against them? Ha! Nothing is ever enough!"
Pizman saw his brother had gone over the edge. He gave a quick nod
to Solek, who leaped at Pizval and tackled him, forcing his fingers around
Pizval's temples. "My mind to your mind..."
Meanwhile, Pizman took his rightful spot at the center chair. "Power
down weapons. Open a channel to the government ship. Audio only."
Velgan hesitated a moment, then did so. "Channel open, sir."
Pizman pasued a moment before speaking. "This is Captain Pizman of
the Carjan Republic Cruiser Relmaz. You have been the unfortunate victim
of an attack started by a rather trigger-happy tactical officer and a first
officer whose mental health is in question. They are being taken care of
right now. I suggest you return whence you came, as I see the option is
still open to you. Pizman out."
As Pizman closed the channel, the ship turned and exited through the
still-open rift, which closed behind them.
Solek extracted himself from the mindmeld. "Sir. I believe I may know
a possible cause of Commander Pizval's obsession."
Pizman turned to Solek. "Let's hear it."
Part 3: By Lazarus Long
Kedanya - Corridor
Mr. Morden was pleased. This will be very good for his associates. The
next ambassador was... Lwaxanna Troi.
Kedanya - Shuttle bay
Lazarus used a micro-tractor to lift the engine of his new ship into
it's casing. A small ship, one seater, with imporvements he'd skimmed from
several timelines. This would be one fun ship. If he could get it built.
Somehting moved out of the corner of his eye. Like the shadow of a shadow.
He shook his head. 72 hours of straight work did things to even him. He
dismissed it out of hand and continnued to work.
Kedanay - Troi's quarters
The bell to her quarters rang. "Who is it?" LT called out. She was studying
the latest suggestions by Koras. She went to the door.
"I am called Mr. Morden. May I ask you a question?"
"Sure. What is it?"
"What do you want?"
And so it began....
Part 4: By Sela's Son
**RELAMAZ READY ROOM**
Solek went on about MR. Morden and how it related.
"Solek it is just a coincidence. The cruiser was delivering some medical
equipment and computer parts to the Bajorans in exchange scientific data
on the wormhole. It was planned! Besides if we took this to court it'd
be ruled that way."
Solek bowed his head in compliance.
**MEANWHILE KEDANYA OPS** Tux, the holo-Penguin that captained some
of sela's Son's ships watched the Science screen. Suddenly the Comunications
screen beeped. Wes walked over and pushed a button.
"Admiral Hayes, what may I do for you?"
"With the new treaty we are using a System similar to that used by
the Americans in the Cold War for hostilities between us and Dominion or
Borg threat. Lowest threat is Defcon 5. Highest is 1. Normally we are at
4. Today we just went to 3. It may go to 2 in a few days."
"Sir Borg or Dominion?"
"Dominion. They were recently attacked by an unkown force that was
superior in strength by far. Weapons power only three Borg cubes could
unleash was exerted, but no Borg 'Footprint' or anything that'd show the
Borg's bethods. The base and surrounding ships were totally and uterrly
anhilated. The Dominion is thinking we, the 'Alpha Quadrant Alliance' as
they called it, are involved as the Romulans have phasing tech. A Vorts
will be asrriving at the sation in two hours to make sure war does not
result. Defend the Romulans as they're our allies now Admiral. Make it
clear that the 'Alpha Quadrant Alliance' never supported an attack, and
work with Sela's Son to make it dclear the Romulans were not involved.
If Sela's Son and the Romulan Government deny the attack you are authorized
under terms of the treaty to defend the Romulans with Force if you have
to. If the Dominion declares war, the Council and other powers will have
hearings about declaring war on the Dominion. It is believed they will
support any action in defense of the Romulans in that situation. Send a
copy of this to Sela's Son.
Admiral Ross out."
Wes blinked. He then stared at the screen.
*MEANWHILE, I.K.C. Negh'var**
Sir three Jem'hadar ships are in this sector." a Klingon reported.
"Give them a firm warning, leave this area at once. This is Klingon
Territory, as to the Treaty of Bajor we can and will disable them to stop
them. Also tell them that we're Klingons and will do so anywhere in the
fleet." MAr'tok ordered.
"One is turning back. The other two are still coming."
"Destroy thier weapons first. Repeat the warning and add that the Engines
are next."
The Neghvar opened fire eliminating the weapons on the The two fighters,
who then retreated.
"Hopefully they'll remember the treaty will allow this."
**MEANWHILE LT'S Quarters*
LT noticed this man wore a Psionic Radiation thingy. They were also
devleoped, or acquired, by the Ferengi and being sold like hotcakes so
people could retain "Sactity of Mind". Not unusual if he was visiting her
quarters and valued privacy.
He rpeated the question.
"What do you want?"
Then LT answered.
Part 5: By Pizman
**KEDANYA--CREW QUARTERS**
Mr. Morden emerged from Lwaxana Troi's quarters, frustrated. She didn't
give him an answer that would be useful. But perhaps he could find someone
who would...
**KEDANYA--RoToRa'S QUARTERS**
Mr. Morden entered the quarters of the temporary security chief, RoToRa.
He was shocked to see the grotesque pale face, the tubes running out of
the man's body. He hadn't known what a "Borg" was before just now. Well,
he'd see about this one. "Greetings, Security Chief RoToRa. I am Mr. Morden.
We spoke before." Mr. Morden held out his hand to shake RoToRa's. RoToRa
abstained. He had been working at a computer terminal when he'd walked
in. Now he turned and said, "Greetings," to him again, then turned back
to his work.
Hm. This one might be difficult. "May I ask you a question, Chief?"
RoToRa turned back to him. "Ask."
"What do you want?"
The question took the chief by surprise. Then, calmly, he replied,
"I wish to work more efficiently as part of the group. I also wish to know
what you have brought in here."
Mr. Morden gasped. Somehow, the chief had detected his three associates!
He couldn't allow RoToRa to tell anyone about this. Swiftly, he pointed
at RoToRa, and the three Shadow Creatures dephased and attacked.
Just as they reached RoToRa, the doors opened, and a nameless ensign
came through. "Your duty roster, si--OH MY GOD!"
By now, the Shadow Creatures were finished with RoToRa. Morden pointed
again, and the associates annihilated the ensign.
When they were done with both, the creatures re-phased, and Mr. Morden
quickly left the room. There were no records left. No witnesses. Nothing
would point to him as the person who did this. As long as he placed himself
away from the crime, he would be safe.
**KEDANYA--READY ROOM**
Wesley Crusher decided he'd better contact RoToRa about the situation.
He hit the comm panel and said, "Crusher to RoToRa." No response. "Crusher
to RoToRa." Still no response.
Better try some other way. "Computer: locate RoToRa."
"RoToRa is not on this station."
That was odd. "When did he leave?"
"RoToRa has not left this station."
Even stranger. Hm. "When did RoToRa disappear from sensors?"
"RoToRa disappeared from sensors at approximately 0720 hours."
Only a few minutes ago. "What was his last known location?"
"RoToRa was last seen in his quarters."
He hit the comm panel again. "Crusher to Security."
"Security here."
"I need someone to be dispatched to RoToRa's quarters immediately.
He's not answering my calls and the sensors aren't picking him up."
"Sending a team now, sir."
"Good. Crusher out."
**RELMAZ--READY ROOM**
Solek had something more to say. "The true reason that Pizval attacked
the ship is because of an underlying hatred of the current government.
Plus, Velgan detected the energy curve not that of the Karemman freighter
we were to rendezvous with, but of a standard Carjan military crusier,
such as our own.
Pizman was shocked. "That wasn't a freighter? So we've still got a
rendezvous to meet?"
Solek nodded. "The odds of a cruiser from the Carjan government appearing
in our space are incalculable, to say the least."
Pizman thought a moment. "It seems your hunch may be correct after
all, Solek. I'll need to get in contact with someone about this..." Once
again he paused to think. "Sela's Son. His Tal Shiar agents may be able
to dig up something on this man. We'll contact him when we return to the
station."
Part 6: By Sela's Son
**HALLS**
Mr. Morden arrived shortly at Sela's Son's quarters and pushed a button.
The Door opened.
Sela's Son stood while a few Penguiins with devices waddled about.
"Don't mind the Penguins come in. Have aBottle of Romulan Root Ale
if you want."
"Thanks, but I'm not thirsty. I've come to ask you a question. What
do you want?"
"I have what I want or I can earn it. Thankyou, anything else?" Sela's
Son tried to remain calm.
"No that will be all." Mr. Morden left.
This one won't help he thought. Sela's Son waited a few minuted then
quikcly went to one of the rooms reserved for an alien crew member of his.
He arrived and entered, but grabbed an O2 Mask before enetering the room.
Going through the room which had been designed with an airlock so it could
support alien atmospheres he found who he was looking for. The being in
an "encounter suit" turned (inside it as always) to face Sels.
"He's Here, Kosh."
"I know. Do not let the others know who he is. The bird that watches
must not sing."
Sela's Son bowed and headed out. The room was assumed to be a Tal Shiar
area, and was strictly off limits due to the atmoshpere inside. He had
to make sure no-one told who Mr. Morden was and what he was doing. If people
begain to know the Shadows would move openly. If the shadows moved openly,
all was lost. He headed to his quarters.
**Sela's Son's Quarters**
He notied he had an apointment with Pizman in halff an hour. He begain
work on his project, a new ship design.
**OUTSIDE RoTaRa's Quarters**
The heavily armed and armored security team busted through and aimed
phasers and scaneed the room.
"Oh my G.."
"Oh no."
"What happened?" were the comments made.
The room looked like it had been through a war. Literally. Something
happened. A few Borg Implants remained. One was a damaged Memory chip.
Accessing it with a tricorder they got few info. RoTaRa's Favoirite food
and his last thought "Somethings happening. Something Bad"
Part 7: By Captain Pizman
*RELMAZ--READY ROOM**
Pizman paused a moment. "I think it would be a good idea to keep this
a secret for now. This might be very sensitive information that we wouldn't
want landing in the wrong hands."
Solek lifed one eyebrow. "Indeed. If this man is indeed behind the
recent emergence of that ship from the rift, we would not want to know
we were still alive. After we have completed our rendezvous, I suggest
we cloak."
"A wise move Solek, though it worries me that a person who could open
a rift into another universe like that might be able to see right through
it. Still, it wouldn't hurt to try."
The comm panel in the ready room beeped. "Velgan to Captain Pizman."
"Go ahead, Lieutenant."
"The freighter we were going to rendezvous with is here. ID, power
curve, everything checks out."
Pizman nodded as if Velgan could see that. "On my way. Pizman out."
He turned to Solek. "Remember. Not a word."
Solek merely nodded, and followed his captain onto the bridge.
**RELMAZ--BRIDGE--TWO HOURS LATER**
The regular shift was back, save one--Pizval. Pizman had ordered him
placed in the brig until further notice. While Pizval was in the brig,
Pizman had filled him in on what was happening, and all their speculations.
Pizman then told Pizval to keep everything said there a secret. Pizval
had agreed.
Solek had told Pizman that his mindmeld had eased Pizval's emotions
a bit, so he would not be manipulated so easily the next time.
The cargo transaction had been successful. And now the ship had returned
to the station. But the station didn't know it yet.
"Should I hail them?" asked Mendock.
Pizman shook his head. "No. I've got a feeling...I don't know. Shuttlebay
One, prapare one of the shuttles for launching. Not a fighter--I need something
that will cloak. And I need a recall function on it too."
"Aye sir."
"Thank you. Bridge out. Broth--" he started to say, then he remembered
Pizval was in the brig. "Solek, take over."
"Aye sir." Solek understood the logic of this. He wished to maintain
the secret as well as possible. By not appearing to have returned, Pizman
would be at his best for covert work. And who would be a better collaborator
than Sela's Son of the Tal Shiar?
As Pizman left the bridge, Solek contemplated how far Pizman was going
now...and how far he would end up going.
**LWAXANA TROI'S QUARTERS**
Lwaxy sat up in her bed, the nightmare receding from her memory. But
she still had the sense that something was wrong.
Something terrible was about to happen.
Lwaxy sighed, turned over, and tried to go back to sleep.
**SELA'S SON'S QUARTERS**
He was already an hour and a half late. Why hadn't Pizman arrived yet?
Sela's Son sat nervously in his chair, having given up on trying to finish
the new design ten minutes ago. It wasn't like him to be late.
Abruptly, a computer display beeped. There was an incoming message
from...where? The beam couldn't be traced. That was odd. Who would go so
far as to make their beam so difficult to trace?
He tapped a code in and read the message. It was telling him to lock
onto a set of coordinates and beam something...or someone...in. The message
was unsigned, but Sela's Son recognized one element of the message. A small,
unusually shaped leaf design at the end.
He remembered where he had seen the leaf design before. Quickly, he
moved over to a portable transporter pad that had been placed in his quarters,
locked onto the coordinates, and beamed the subject in.
The person who appeared on the pad was just who he had expected it
to be. He let out a sigh of relief. "Pizman, thank goodness it's you."
Pizman quickly motioned for silence. Then, he whispered, "Are the doors
sealed?"
Sela's Son thought a moment. "Computer, seal the doors to this room.
Do not inform anyone except those with at least level five authorization,
and only inform those upon request. Authorization Sela's Son, Tango-Beta
four-six-two."
The computer gave no argument. "Acknowledged." Fortunately, Admiral
Crusher had given Sela's Son a bit of leeway in the way of authorization.
Sela's Son turned to Pizman. "All right. What do you wish to discuss?"
Pizman told Sela's Son about the mysterious man, describing him in
detail. Sela's Son seemed ready to panic. "Have you told anyone else?"
"No. In fact, only two other people know of the man, and they are both
sworn to secrecy. One of them is my brother Pizval, who encountered the
man in the first place. And the other is my Vulcan science officer, Solek,
who mindmelded with Pizval, then told me. No one else knows, and I've made
sure no one else knows."
Sela's Son nodded. "Good. I only hope that your brother didn't give
anything for him to use."
Pizman blinked. "Actually, he did." He explained briefly what had happened.
"Fortunately, Solek was able to mindmeld with him, and while he was out
of it, I took command back, and managed to resolve it peacefully--by telling
the other ship part of the truth, and asking that they leave. They left."
Sela's Son nodded. "Wisely done. I'll need to tell you more about this..."
Pizman listened to Sela's Son's information. It was extremely intriguing.
And it confirmed his suspicions earlier that this was something to be kept
a secret.
For this was a deep secret indeed. And should the secret be divulged
to too many people...all would be lost.
Part 8: By Sela's Son
**DOCKING RING**
The Dominion Battleship that held the dominion Delegates docked with
Kedanya. Foron stepped out guarded by 5 Jem'hadar, along with the founder
leader
They were greeted by Admiral Crusher and Sela's Son, who had arrived
a few minutes earlier after his meeting with Pizman. Sela's Son bowed in
respect.
"Ahh, it is good to see you Admiral. Sela's Son it is also a pleasure
meeting you. I do trust that we will be able to negotiate what we'll be
done to find out who did this."
"Of Course." Sela's Son said with reluctance.
**20 Minutes later. BRIDGE**
"Admiral a dimesional rift is opening." Maelwys anounced.
"On Screen."
A Rift opened and slowly a ship emerged. A Long Dark black ship emerged,
with markingsshowing it belonged to the Terran Alliance.
Before Wes could order a Red Alert the comunications station beeped.
Wes knew they were hailing. "On Screen!" Wes repeated.
A person similar to Burpo the Clwon appeared, the only being a scar
along his nose.
"I am Burpo the Clown of the Terran Rebellion. Eventually we will be
the New Terran Empire."
"I'm sorry we do not acknowledge your 'government' You.."
"We are interdimensional, of course we've located new universes which
are scarcly inhabited or are to xenophobic to contact us or to leave thier
dimension. We wish to negotiate with all major powers in this Universe
to hopefully set up good relations with all of them." Alt Burpo grinned.
"I'll allow you to dock. You will be allowed 1 Assistant and no more
then 5 Body Guards."
"Acknowledged I'm transfering my ships conrolsover to you for docking
procedures. Burpo out."
**LATER, Alt BURPO'S QUARTERS**
Mr. Morden had made appointments with the two new representitives right
away. He was about to meet with someone from a miror universe of this one,
and thier universe was a dangerous and hatefull place indeed. He pushed
the doorchime and walked in.
"Greetings Mr.."
"Morden. Mr. Morden."
"Ahh it is best that you talk to my superior Sela's Son."
First this confused Mr. Morden, but he immediatley remembered that
'Alt' Burpo was from a mirror universe.
"Thank you. May I have Privacy when I talk to him please?"
"Sure. If I didn't give it to him automatically, I might not be able
to enjoy the Empire when it finally vanquishes the Alliance."
Burpo cmmented as he left to another room.
The screen came online and a Sela's Son without the Romulan Ridges
appeared.
"I was informed you wished to talk to Burpo, sense I don't know who
you represent over there I thought it best that I talk to you. Right now
my wife is out doing some 'buisness'" Sela's son grinned, inciting she
was probably making sure his ship could wreak havoc on any Alliance ship
it encountered.
"What do you want?" Morden asked.
"What do I want? I'll tell you. I want the Alliance to go through what
all Terrans, and they're former affiliates went through. I want to be the
Emperror of the New Terran Empire. I want that Empire to expand it's former
boundries. I wish to see the Regent,, the leader of the Alliance, in chains
waiting on me and to be without honor. Then I wish to move in on this universe
and conquer them for not lending a hand! I want to lead the New Terran
Empire as the Empire who's wings expanded over both these universes. I
want my legacy, and my Empire to continue long after my wife and I have
crumbeled to dust. I want Qo'nous and Cardassia in this universe to e in
flames, and Bajor used as a base."
Morden simply smiled, his associates using a technique that surpassed
any creatures imaginations, remained undetected altough they had contacted
thier homeworld."
**MEANWHILE A base along the Alliance frontier **
3 Vor'chas practived wargames against 3 Galors. The Station acted as
an observation post. Then Communications were jammed, heavily.
Three Jet Black Ships encroached on them. One of them firedat the Klingon
ships and the other fired on the Cardassians.
Few shots were fired by the Alliance ships as they were quickly destroyed,
alog with the base. The ships then simply disapeared, into a realm only
they knew in this universe.
**BACK IN Alt BURPo'S QUARTERS**
"Excuse me a moment Mr. Morden."
The Screen snapped to a stand by screen. The Emplem of the Rebellion
and presumebly the former Empire as a backdrop.
The screen came to life again.
"An Alliance facillity along with some of thier ships were uterrly
destroyed. The rebellion never attacked and the only other power ifthe
Ferengi who couldn't launch an attack so effecient."
Mr. Morden smiled.
"You did this. But how?"
"Methods aren't important. Anytime you want a strike, or someone...
removed just ask. Here's the frequency."
"How can I repay you, power in the future regime?"
"No, just a favor when my associates need one. That's all. I believe
I am finished."
"Thank you." the screen turned off.
Morden smiled. He was easier then Londo. Mr. Morden left.Meanwhile
Alt Burpo was hapily drinking down Cherry Coca Cola in the other room,
he then made a rather loud and obnoxious noise.
**SELA"S SON'S QUARTRS**
Sela's Son stopped working on the designs, as he figured out the problem.
He transmitted on a secure and scrambled channel. The Sa'toth II would
be quickly outfitted with the new enhancments. With the Shadows about,
he needed to make sure he could fight them. The Sa'toth II would be outfitted
with Vorlon technology, as it was already installed and needed the one
bug to be fixed. Designed for the same reasons the White Star was back
in the Vorlon's home Universe, labeled Universe 3 by the Tal Shiar. Sela's
Son smiled. The Sa'toth II would be back in 2 hours. It'd appear the mostly
the same, but would outperform any ship seen outside the Romulan Star Empire
that didn't belong to the Borg. Not likley to be able to destroy a Daominion
Battleship, it could take a beating from one for quite a while as it was
fitted with a Organic Auto-repair system that was very similar to the one
the Vorlons used. It's beam weapons were also enhanced somewhat. Even if
the Shadows didn't strike here the Sa'toth II would help ifanother war
with the Dominion broke out. Sela's Son only hoped a Shadow War would not
start here, and now with the Mirro Universe representitives here, in the
Mirror Universe either. Also the Shadows must have some base to operate
from. Sela's Son had the computer look for any location withing the last
1,000 years where ships never came back from.
**A Dead World**
The planet was wreaked with destruction when the race inhabiting it
were suddenly destroyed. The Husnock, unable to run anything on the planet
due to thier demise, left behind a ruined world. Drilling machinery drove
into the planetary core causing earthquakes of gigantic preportions. The
Atmosphere was destroyed by fires, 'nuclear fallout, from the mineing drills,
and Polution. The Ecosystem destroyed by the prior forces and a sudden
imbalance in the food chain. Acid Rain caused by the drastic changes had
destroyed anything worth taking. The few Husnock ships, satelites, and
stations in orbit had sence crashed into the planet ravaging it even more.
No one would live here, and no one would come here as there was nothing.
A Perfect place. All the Ecological disaestors occured rather quickly allowing
the Shadows to move in. Vast, undetectable caverns now existed. Cities
had been formed. Caverns where thier ships hid, provided protection from
discoverey. Sense they had moved in any ship sent here had been either
destroyed, or taken over. Of the few ships that were taken over, the Shadows
had all the data they needed. Using thier method of traveling even faster
then what this universe knew of, other
then maybe Transwarp, they could get just about anywhere they wanted.
The Shadows knew the Borg could assimalate, but knew they' fail with them.
They were to old a species and far to advanced. One of thier scout ships
had picked up a small spherical vessel of Borg Design just outside the
Cardassian border furthest from the Federation.
**SECTOR 84 by 74 by 23**
The Sphere scanned the area, No resistance. Locate unarmed freightor
or civilian ship and assimalate those onboard and the ships technology.
Learn of recent actions in Alpha Quadrant.
The Shadow Scout was in range, it appeared.
The Sphere could not identify the ship. it had not seen it. It had
obviously comefrom a realm extremly close to this one allowing quicker
movements. It transmitted the standard Borg First Contact greeting.
"WE ARE THE BORG. RESISTAN---" The Sphere was fired upon. It took heavy
damage and fired back. The Shadows Scout shaked, and a piece of it was
blown off. The shadow ship fired three shots and destroyed the sphere.
Not a strong ship, but the Shadows could now calculate the Borg's strength.
The Borg Cube, feared in this Universe, wasa strong ship. A Shadow ship
could destroy one, but would be severley damged after the battle, surviving
only by it;s ability to absorb damage. Of couse the Shadows almost never
moved openly so no more then three or four capital ships would ever be
seen ata time. If the Vorlons moved thier little 'game into this universe
true fear would be known by all. Not only had the Shadows moved in on this
universe they might be able to move in on another one with the Alternate
Sela's Son's assitance.
Part 9: Captain Pizman
**SELA'S SON'S QUARTERS**
Meanwhile, Pizman had seen all the ship's schematics. He was still cloaked,
and no one could see him. His hands flew across his PADD, but silently
so Sela's Son couldn't hear. He was amazed at the level of technology exhibited.
Where do the Tal Shiar get all these toys, anyway? he thought. More powerful
weapons, enhanced armoring, faster engines, quicker maneuvering ability,
and higher energy reserves. Even higher stealth capabilities while uncloaked.
Anything one could want with a ship. I gotta get me some of that, he thought.
Then he thought, Better ask permission...if only indirectly. With that,
he pressed the decloak button. By now, Sela's Son was running a search
for planets where mysterious disappearances had occured.
Pizman moved into his field of vision. Sela's Son flinched and blanked
the screen. "I wish you wouldn't do that," he remarked. "Sorry. But I just
realized that my shift is about to start, and I have to return to the shuttle
I've parked outside. One thing, though...I'm looking for possible ways
to enhance my ship, considering the Dominion's still out there, and I've
still not figured out what caused that one ship to pop up in front of us."
Sela's Son seemed to think a moment before taking the hint. Without
saying a word, he brought up the display of the new Sa'Toth.
Pizman silently tapped in a few things he had missed the last time
and finally had a complete picture. "Could I get some more detailed schematics
for that?"
At this, Sela's Son shut down the screen. "I can only give you full
schematics for a few things. The rest you'll have to live without."
Inwardly, Pizman smiled. Sela's Son hadn't noticed that he'd copied
every aspect of that ship to the PADD! Still, that was just a basic view,
and he wouldn't be able to duplicate those technologies with more than
60% accuracy, if that much. With more detailed schematics, he would be
able to duplicate them more exactly. But since Sela's Son wouldn't give
him any more details into those parts, he would indeed have to "do without
them", at least he wouldn't be able to use them at full power. Sela's Son
handed him an isolinear chip. "If you can access this, it'll show you how
to create some armoring and weapons enhancements. Also some modifications
to make your ship more maneuverable."
Pizman nodded. "Thank you. I will keep these on a need-to-know basis.
I'll also tell my first and second officers about it, especially since
my second officer will be helping with these enhancements."
Sela's Son nodded, then pointed to the transporter pad. With Pizman's
instructions, Sela's Son beamed Pizman to a location out in space. Five
seconds after the transport was complete, a signal came back into the room.
Successful transport.
Sela's Son went back to his computer terminal, then glanced at the
chronometer running on it. Almost time for her to show up.
Sure enough, the doors opened even as he thought of her. He stood up
and smiled at her. "Hello Joia."
She smiled back. "Hello. Are you ready?"
"Yes, I'm ready."
As he spoke, one of his penguins walked over to Joia. "Oh, Sela's Son,
I love your penguins. They're so cute!"
"Yes, they are, aren't they. Come along now, my dear. A table is waiting
for us...and we don't want to disappoint it, do we?"
With this, Joia gave Sela's Son a kiss on the cheek and, hand in hand,
they walked toward the Mall.
**CARJAN SHUTTLE**
Pizman materialized behind the pilot seat of the shuttle, exactly where
he'd hoped to wind up. He quickly took the controls and maneuvered toward
the still-cloaked ship. He had to use a small active EM link to trace his
shuttle to the ship, and then its docking bay.
With some skillful piloting he was able to get it into the shuttlebay.
It was strange; first it seemed he was heading into more void, then suddenly
the open shuttlebay was visible in front of him, at incredibly close distance.
He made it in easily, got out of the shuttle, then took the PADD and the
isolinear chip to his quarters.
**RELMAZ--CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS**
His brother and his science officer were waiting for him. Wasting no
time with pleasantries, he got to the point of what was going on.
Pizval was the first to speak. "So you're saying that a strange alien
race from another universe has made its way here, in the hopes of promoting
Conflict throughout this galaxy?"
"That's the extent of it. And they've apparently been causing some
other disruptions, more directly anyway, inside the Alpha Quadrant, and
even into the Gamma Quadrant. They are powerful technologically, and we
need all the enhancements we can get. And that brings me to this." He slipped
an isolinear chip into his PADD, and some different schematics came up
on the screen, one at a time. "Sela's Son has been adding enhancements
to his warbird, the Sa'Toth II. I believe that with the help of the Relmaz's
engineering staff, we can enhance this ship to something that would be
able to stand up to this threat." At this, he pressed a button, and a new
schematic popped up on the screen. "This is a set of general schematics
of all the enhancements put on their ship."
Solek looked closely. "I believe that our engineering staff could duplicate
that technology to about 50% effectiveness. With the more detailed schematics,
I believe closer to 70% effectiveness."
"We'll have to get the staff on this pronto. Remember, none of this
is to be revealed except on a need-to-know basis. And make sure they know
that the information they give is on the same strict basis. Also, I believe
secondary engineer Gomez was thinking up a new technology called interdimensional
rifting. I'd like him to see if he can make it applied quickly so we could
use it in combat if necessary."
"Aye sir." Solek's expression was unreadable to most people, but Pizman
saw the silent approval in his eyes.
"Are there any questions? No? Good. Dismissed."
**KEDANYA--CORRIDOR**
Mr. Morden looked at the list. A Bajoran delegate would be a likely
target. He quickly made his way to the diplomat's quarters. He pressed
the door chime.
"Who is it?"
"I am Mr. Morden. Do you mind if I ask you a question?" At this, the
door opened.
The Bajoran turned to face the newcomer. "Ask."
"What do you want?"
The Bajoran considered this. "What do I want? I would want some retribution
against the Cardassians that killed my family. They killed my brother,
father, sister, mother, wife and daughter, until I had no family left to
love. All the family I knew was all sent to Relshevar Colony...and never
came back alive."
Mr. Morden pondered this. It was a reach, but this Bajoran's grief
and hatred could become powerful and easier to control.
**RELSHEVAR COLONY**
It was the night watch. The Cardassians no longer employed slave labor
here, as their only slaves had won independence long ago. Now all the mining
was done with machines, and Zemok Nor above was built with no ore processing
unit on it. Suddenly, the crew aboard the station erupted into chaos as
a triad of giant insect-like ships descended on their station. They barely
looked like ships--almost silhouettes, or gaps where the fabric of space
had been cut out. And they descended on the station as if they were the
gods of wrath, ready to cause the end of the universe.
The station and its defending Galor-class ship and Hideki patrol ships
fought valiantly, but they were quickly destroyed before they could inflict
serious damage on them. The colony, too, was purified of its life. The
shadowy ships slipped off into the void of space, leaving in their wake
nothing but debris from the destroyed ships and the station.
Part 10: By Sela's Son
*MALL**
Joia and Sela's Son were eating. Sela's Son noticed someone, Mr. Morden,
was talking to a Ferengi.
"Well Sels," Joia said lowering her voice "project Uber Geese is almost
complete."
Sela's Son knew what that meant. The Sa'toth II had arrived. Although
Human, Joia was extremly bright so Sela's Son included her in his crew.
In time a relationship begain, and he was proud of her engineering acomplishments
as well. She knew about the Shadows, so she was invaluable.
"Ahh good," Sela's son replied watching Morden leave "Let us head aboard
the Sa'toth II for a while."
**REGENCY 2**
The Regent had sent a diplomat, Alt Tux, to speak on behalf of the
Alliance. Something was going, and whatever was doing it could cloak and
had at least more then one ship based on the level of Destruction. The
Mirror (Our) Universe was probably involved, and they had to have cloaking
tech. Tux had theDimensional Rift open.
**KEDANYA BRIDGE**
"A ship is coming out of a Dimensional Rift, neghvar class. It's hailing
and wishes to dock for diplomatic concerns and they wish to speak with
various diplomatswith the upmost urgency."
"Let them." Wes groaned. What next? he thought.
"Sir the Sa'toth II and and other ships are
decloaking, Sela's Son and his 'Assistant' have beamed over, but there's
something odd about the Sela's Son's ships."
"On screen"
The warbird looked a little different. The hull must have been upgraded
with new technology, and the scanners had a hard time locking on. The Sa'toth
II must have more Stealth abilities now. The Sa'toth II then cloaked before
to many sensor readings could beanalyzed.
**Alt Burpo's Quarters**
Mr. Morden opened the channel to Alt Sela's Son. "Mr. Morden I have
done what you asked. Belcho the Clown is dead over here. Not a major task
as he was preaching peace and unification with the Alliance. The fool.
I have few needs of assitance right now, but I'll contact you when I do
need some. As for the second favor, I need to know what I'm attacking senseI'm
comiting the Sa'toth."
"Only a Ferengi Marauder, damage and then let the Transport go." Mr.
Morden replied The Ferengi could be turned against the Romulans here, and
he could cause Chaos in the Ferengi government by destabilizing various
parts of thier government.
**Sa'toth II**
Sela's Son took the captains chair with Joia in the First Officers
chair. Janor had been sent to the 3rd Timeline to get forces from there
to assist against the Shadows, and was no longer assigned to Sela's Son
as his second. Once needed the ships would cross the Timeline barrier and
exit hyperspace next to the Forces that will be fighting the Shadows. Joia,
his
first officer, checked the Terminal. "We're here. Droping Cloak."
"Test all the systems."After about half an hour the Sa'toth II phased
and opened a jump gate, part of the new technology added. Upon entering
hyperspace it went to Warp. The trip that had taken 50 minutes now only
took a few minutes.
Unfortuantly Warp could only be safely achieved in Hyperspace for real
short periods of time.
**KEDANYA BRIDGE**
Wes watched the screen knowing something was about to happen. Suddenly
an elipse of light that was a tunnel from somewhere opened and out came
a dephasing Sa'toth II.
"Hello!" Maelwys remarked.
"Hmmm must be new FTL drive the Romulans are experimenting with.
**SA'TOTH II, TRANSPORTER ROOM**
Sela's Sona and Joia stepped on the pad and beamed over to Kedanya.
Little did they know the chaos that would soon engulf the station.
**At the same time, mall**
Mr. Morden checked the news. Alt Sela's Son had done it, he had attacked
the Marauder and destroyed it, and had damaged the Transport. The Ferengi
had sent thier ambassoder here. Conflict was on the verge of happening.
Now on to Federation admiral, Wesley Crusher.
Part 11: By Captain Pizman
**RELMAZ--ENGINEERING**
"You want us to do this?" asked Bill Hayes. The schematics he was looking
at were confusing, and he could only guess as these enhancements what they
would do once they were done.
Pizman nodded. "Yes. These enhancements, I believe, will improve our
ship's performance dramatically many times over.
Solek will be assisting you."
Engineer Hayes was not convinced. "But sir, what do the enhancements
do?"
Pizman folded his arms. "I'm afraid that's on a need-to-know basis,
Mr. Hayes."
He retorted in frustration, "But unless I know what I'm doing, I can't
get this done right!"
Solek and Pizman looked at each other for a long moment. Finally, Pizman
said, "Mr. Hayes, in your office please."
Once inside, Pizman ordered, "Computer, seal door." He then turned
to Bill Hayes. "As I said, Mr. Hayes, what is said here is on a strictly
need-to-know basis. We are upgrading our starship for a battle, and a taxing
one at that. Apparently the all-powerful forces of Chaos and Conflict from
another universe have come to our universe to wreak havoc among us."
"Sounds like an Armageddon conflict to me," remarked Hayes skeptically.
"All isn't lost yet. This information has to be kept secret. If it's
let out into the open, all will be lost for certain. But silently upgrading
our ships will allow us a chance to fight back against these forces. Solek
estimates that we won't be able to duplicate the technology here precisely,
but we'll be able to get at least 50% the effectiveness. Remember--keep
this secret from as much of the ship as possible."
Mr. Hayes considered a moment, then nodded grudgingly. "I don't like
it, but I'll see what I can do."
"Good. Carry on." Pizman stepped outside.
His comm badge beeped. "Sir, we've detected a Romulan shuttle in our
vicinity." It was Mendock, on the bridge. "It's emitting a scrambled signal--wait.
That's one of our scrambles."
Pizman paused a moment. A Romulan shuttle emitting one of their scrambles..."Which
scramble?"
"Scramble M-zero-zero."
The special scramble reserved for use by him and Sela's Son. This could
only mean..."Open the shuttlebay doors and send them an EM guide beam to
the bay. They're here to help us. And clear the shuttlebay of staff--I
want to meet our friends alone."
"Aye sir. Bridge out."
"Pizman out." Closing the channel, he turned to his science officer.
"Mr. Solek, you're with me."
**RELMAZ--SHUTTLEBAY**
At first, they saw nothing as they entered. Then the bay shimmered,
and the green outline of a Romulan shuttle became apparent. Soon after,
several Romulans stepped out of the shuttle, followed by one clown.
The clown stepped forward to greet Pizman and his science officer.
"Greetings. I'm Belcho the Clown. We've been sent by Sela's Son to help
you enhance your ship."
Pizman nodded. "By all means. This will give us the ability to work
much quicker on this project, and without having to tell too much of the
crew. Solek has been studying the schematics, and with your help, we just
might be able to do it better than if we'd just tried to do this ourselves.
And our raiders, too."
Belcho nodded, then began discussing technical details with Solek.
It would be difficult, but possible to do quickly.
**KEDANYA--READY ROOM**
Wes sat in his ready room. Things were quickly escalating. Unexplained
disappearances. Destroyed outposts with no traces of evidence. Rumors that
a Romulan fleet had destroyed a Ferengi transport. All this had added up
to Starfleet issuing a DefCon 2 alert.
Wes was extremely concerned. What was happening here? Why was the treaty
all of a sudden unraveling before his eyes?
The door chime interrupted his thoughts. "Come in," he said tiredly.
A man appeared in the doorway. A cool, calculating man. "Hello Admiral
Crusher."
"Hello, Mister...er..."
"Morden. May I ask you a question?"
Morden. Something about the name seemed familiar.... "By all means."
"What do you want?"
The question startled Wes. "I'm hoping the upcoming negotiations with
the Dominion will go well. I'm afraid they won't be as trustworthy as I'm
hoping..."
The man across from him seemed to note that. Why, he had no idea.
Mr. Morden silently cursed his bad luck. Admiral Crusher wouldn't be
so easily manipulated. At least, not directly. But he might still be able
to coax the Dominion to be a little more aggressive in their negotiations....
After the man left, it suddenly occured to Wes where he'd heard the
name. Lwax had mentioned a strange man named Morden who had showed up in
her quarters. And he'd asked Lwaxy the same question.
Suddenly the comm panel beeped. "Sela's Son to Admiral Crusher. I've
got some news I need to discuss with you. Could you please meet me in my
diplomatic quarters?"
Admiral Crusher condsidered a moment, then tapped his badge. "Very
well, I'll see you down there," he said.
Part 12: By Sela's Son
*SELA"S SON QUARTERS**
Sela's Son tapped his foot. Jia walked over and hugged him.
"Don't worry they'll be here." she said.
Kosh simply stood reading the history of this Timeline.
The Dominion ambassoder couldn't make it Sels found out.
Martok entered, and was guided to his chair by Joia. Soon Pizman beamed
over and Garak entered.
Wes then entered a few shades paller, followed by Alt Tux.After waiting
about 10 minutes they gave up on the Ferengi.
Sela's Son called up the large screen. He informed everyone about the
shadows and what they're goal was.
"So," Martok begain "we need to organize a defense but keep it on a
need-to-know leve?"
"Yes, Forces from Time Line 3 will be ready to. My ships and those
forces will wait in a realm called hyperspace, not like the one seen in
Sci-Fi called SW,. They're be ready for when we are able to fight these
forces, but that won't be for a while. Currently we need to make sure Conflict
doesn't start between our peoples."
Alt tux stood. "I'll try to negotiate with Alt Burpo becuase of the
attacks on us, which is one reason why we are here, and see if I can get
them onboard."
"Be CAREFULL they are probably in league with the Shadows."
Pizman nodded. "Considering the Alliance is helping us, I'd have to
assume that the Rebellion would be on the opposite side."
Wes cleared his throat. "You said you'd give minor enhancements to
the Reunion and ap Baeddon. What kind?"
Sela's Son handed a PADD to Wes. It showed schematics of certain upgrades
that could be done to the ships. "Pizman and I
have upgraded our ships, altough to a further extent. Only my ships
will be able to create jump points into hyperspace however."
Sela's Son had a plan and went on to describe it. Sela's Son explained
that Refugees would come here. The Ferengi had just begun to invade surrounding
minor races, so soon a flood of them would arrive. The Shadows were driving
ships and refugees here and once a lull started they'd strike. The Parliment
of dreams would strike the Shadow's HQ in this Universe, while the Penguins
beak would launch a Trlithium weapon into it's son blowing them up.They'd
use hyperspace to mask themselves. Meanwhile Sels' would pretend to test
the Sa'toh while cloakable ships would slip with him into hyperspace where
a fleet consisting of those ships, Minbari, Human, Narn, Vree, Drazi, Brakiri,
Centauri and his ships were waiting. Also about 43 White Stars would be
assigned. The Federation and Cardassians wouldforge an alliance just in
case of a dominion attack (both for real and as a ruse). So Federation
and Cardassian ships would be outside Kedanya, making it a jucier target.
It'd be a while until this happened of course. Unfortuanatly the Ferengi,
with some Shadow Assitance probably, were invading nearby worlds. The shadows
would strike Kedanya when tons of refugees and ships had been driven there,
and would lay blame on whoever was 'serving' them. The vorlons woud also
strike at the Ferengi forces soon to stop further Ferengi actions once
everything was ready. The shadows would probably commits hundreds of ships,
but would face thousands of ships. This was a long ways away, they had
to keep a Shadow War from happening as they have in the 3rd timeline, or
all would be lost.
Part 13: By Captain Pizman
**KEDANYA--SELA'S SON'S DIPLOMATIC QUARTERS**
Sela's Son turned over the presentation to Kosh. Pizman stood to one
side of him. He said grimly, "Already the greedy have inherited this earth"--Sela's
Son pointed to a splotch of orange on the screen--"and now the doves flock
to the Bastion of Light."
"The Ferengi have subjugated that territory and a bunch of refugees
are on their way here," Pizman interpreted.
"The darkness pursues them. Only the hawks surrounding the Bastion
will prevent the darkness from overcoming the light."
Pizman was having trouble interpreting this riddle. "The 'darkness'
means the Shadows and their ships, but...."
Sela's Son came to his rescue. "The Shadow ships will be lured here
by the refugees. When they get here, our warships will pop out of hyperspace
and attack them. If we cannot hold them at Kedanya, all is lost."
The Vorlon nodded, then stood aside. Pizman took over. "All of you
who were present for a certain event a few months back will recall that
meeting one's mirror counterpart is not the most desirable situation. Two
counterparts in close proximity will cause one to be killed; so far, it
seems to be the ones from our mirror universe." To make his point, he turned
to Alt Tux.
"That would be your universe." He turned to the others. "Precautions
have been taken on the part of Sela's Son so that Alt Tux and other possible
counterparts may be safe."
Pizman continued: "Remember that these Shadows are after Conflict.
Should you encounter a man named Morden, and should he ask you a question,
give an answer that you have everything you want, or can get it. Any other
answer may give him a way to undermine our efforts." He held a hand up
before Martok could speak. "If you have already given an answer, I do not
blame you for doing so. Just remain vigilant, as he may try to exploit
it. In a dangerous way."
Pizman stepped aside. Wes took the stand this time: "I am here to announce
the promotion of The Ninja Scot to chief of security. Tosk will be his
second-in-command."
Pizman nodded. The Ninja Scot would be the only logical replacement
as security chief.
The rest of the meeting went into more details, and everyone listened
intently. Soon the meeting was over, and everyone left for their ships,
diplomatic quarters, crew quarters etc. Pizman did it by beaming directly
from the room. How he did it without having his ship decloak was a mystery
to all--except Sela's Son.
Everyone left, save two. Sela's Son himself, and Commander Joia. Joia
went over to her immediate superior. "I'll be assisting with the engineering
work. You should get some rest."
Sela's Son was about to object--then realized she was right. It had
been a long day for him. "Very well. See you tomorrow,
my dear."
She smiled at him, then went over to the computer terminal.
Sela's Son changed in privacy, then slipped under the covers. He was
asleep in fifteen seconds.
**NEAR NEUTRAL ZONE--ROMULAN OUTPOST**
It was a peaceful night. The five recently upgraded Warbirds circled
around the base, cloaked and ready.
Suddenly a pair of jet-black ships came out of nowhere and descended
on the outpost.
They never got there. The Warbirds decloaked, and attacked at full
force. Two of the braver ones came a little too close, and were eventually
incinerated by one of the dark ships. But the other three had meanwhile
managed to destroy the other one.
The spidery vessel, badly damaged, suddenly wheeled around and disappeared
into the void of space. The outpost was safe--for now.
**KEDANYA--SECURITY OFFICE**
Mr. Morden looked down his list. Only a few names left. He decided to
try the security chief's office again. One of his targets should be there
now, as it was the night shift. If his guess was right, anyway.
He entered the office. Sure enough, he was there. "Mr. Tosk, may I
see you for a moment?"
Tosk considered this. "Very well, Mr...?"
"Morden, thank you. May I ask you a question?"
Part 14: By Sela's Son
Sela's Son tossed and turned. Suddenly he found himself somehwere, as
if he were an apiration, and it was all in Black and White..
Weeping. Wailing. Moaning. Dr. Bashier weaved through the crowd,
trying to assit the sick and the injured. His overworked Medical teams
were in there to. Hundreds maybe a few thousand refugees crampedd Kedanya,
along with more ships outside.
Sela's Son suddenly found himself elsewhere.
Klaxons screeched. Alarams rangs. This place was damaged. Heavily.
Wires and tubing layed loose from the ceiling, a metal beam had already
crashed down and killed a Romulan. Smoke filled the room.
Sela's Son with blood coming from the side of his lip looked around.
The Vorlon enhancements allowed him a holographic view of the battle around
him, hundreds of Shadow ships had appeared, Sela's Son had set off nuclear
mines, when they were in range, destroying some. Then all the forces in
hyperspace, his ships and some other Warbirds, as well as the forces from
Universe 3. Joia handled the First officer's console, she had taken over
tactical from there.
"Bring us about. Lock weapons on the Shadow ship. FIRE!"
The Sa'toth II swung about, and fired a few green disruptor beams,
then a powerfull beam of Vorlon design. Then three Plasma torpedoes left
thier bays and hit the shadow ship dead on. The Shadow ship crumpled, withered.
It was dying.
Another shadow ship flew past the Sa'toth emitting a mindscreach.
It fired on a nebula, carving it up in the Saucer area eventually causing
and overload in the warp core, and the module. The Nebula class ship blew
up. An Oberth which had survived so far, fired it's phaser, the shadow
ship responded and fired at it.
"Bring us about target that ship. FIRE"
"Aye." Joia acknowleded.
The Sa'toth II and a Minbari Sharlin class warship both fired at
the same target, the Shadow ship couldn't take much more. A Soveriegn fired
it's quantum torpedoes at it and the Shadow ship died.
"SIr, one of the Shadow ships is approaching the station! The Burpo's
Nose is moving to interecept!" Joia read looking at Sela's Son with a sad,
almost apolgetic gaze
"Come on Burpo destroy those terrors."
Sela's Son turned in his chair and watched a lone warbird fire on
the Shadow ship, along with Kedanya and a few Runabouts. The Shadow ship
soon died, of course the new tactic discovered by Selmoo had helped stop
it.
Suddenly Sela's Son found himself floating.
"Q!"
Q stood. He snapped his fingers and appeared to be a Vorlon, in encounter
suit and all.
"Only a minor assitance, Those images are of what will happen. The
next is what might."
Sela's son found himself on KEdanya again, in the mall.
"I can't stop them!. They're burning through the lounge, here, and
the Diplomatic ring!" it was Koras.
"Koras," Mael was commenting "My security forces are coming."
Something was burning through the wall. Troops with large phasers and
Disruptors were around, the refugees were shelttered.
'Air Raid' Sirens were wailing. There were still some Civilians running
to the sheltar!
Suddenly whatever was burning through, broke in. Koras aimed two Disruptor
rifles and fired rapidly at the hole. He let out a Klingon war whoop. Nearby
a Romulan fired a Romulan Disruptor Bazooka. Soldiers of Darkness emerged
from the hole. The first few were cut down, but a few got threw and begain
killing the front line of defenders.
"Go Mael. The auto-destruct is counting down, we've done all we ca.
Hopefully the others can finish our job."
"No..."
"CAPTAIN. GO!" Koras threw Mael so he'd leave,. Koras had used up the
power reserves in his rifles. He pulled out two Mek'leths
and grinned.
"TODAY IS A GOOD DAY TO DIE!" Koras begain swinging his swords.
Sela's Son foundhimself from the view of a Runabout.
Escape pods everwhere and runabouts to. A few ships were pulling away.
The Shadow ships were long gone, replaced by boarding ships. He could see
fires in Kedanya, and firefights. Then the center of Kedanya lit up. Kedanya
tore itself apart destroying a few Shadow scouts nearby.
Sela's Son lurched forward, awake. Joia turned from the computer panel.
"Sels! What's wrong?"
"I had a vision. Again."
"Oh dear."
Sela's Son filled her in about his vision.
"The Shadows will be strong as we forsaw. We must be carefull."
"Well I can't sleep now. I'm going to the bridge for a while. You need
some sleep however, we don't know when the Shadows will strike."
"It'll be a while or are you ordering me as my commanding officer?"
"No, I'm suggesting it as your Fiance Joia. I want you to be well rested.
We'll be needing you."
"Ok," Joia said smiling "I will be back soon though, you only got three
hours of sleep."
**FERENGI QUARTERS**
The Ferengi hissed "Thanks for yourassisting our millitary. We now
are bumping into the Cardassians. They're Millitary is stronger than ours,
we need help."
Morden Smiled.
"Of course."
**Umpock Nor**
Three Galors, a Keldon, and 6 Hidekis patrolled the area.
Suddenly a Triad of dark ships appeared. One fired at the weapon platform
on the Nor. The Triad then engaged and eliminated
the ships. During the battle fighters were launched. about 7/8 of the
Shadow Fighters were destroyed. All three ships slipped off leaving a crippled
station behind. After half an hour Ferengi forces moved in and commandeered
the station.

Part 15: By Captain (the singer) Pizman
**RELMAZ--BRIDGE**
"Captain on the bridge!" Everyone stood up.
"At ease. Pizval, to my ready room. Feldar, take over. Sorjen, take
the helm." The two brothers exited the bridge together.
As the door shut behind them, Sorjen turned back to face Feldar. "What
do you think is going on?"
Feldar only shook his head. "I haven't a clue, but he's probably got
a good reason for hiding it. That's all I can say."
**RELMAZ--SCIENCE LAB**
Assistant engineer Roberto Gomez was having trouble with the technology.
"It's no use. No matter what I try, the rift takes at least ten seconds
to open. We need less than three."
Selmoo, an astrophysics officer assigned to this project, had a look
over it. "Hm...you need to adjust the verteron emitters to phase variance
4.717 plus two pi to get it precisely tuned. Plus, it won't work quickly
unless you adjust it to this quantum signature--" he fiddled with the controls
"--because otherwise the feedback will cause it to open more slowly."
Gomez wasn't satisfied. "This is supposed to be tuned to our universe..."
"You've got to remember we're not in our universe anymore. Already
we've lost some of our own quantum signature to the environment around
us. It needs to be tuned to the mirror universe if it's going to be combat-viable.
In any case, if we really needed to get back to our universe, we could
easily re-tune it."
Gomez thought about it. "I guess we'll have to count on that, then,"
replied Gomez grudgingly. "Let's test this model."
They did. Two seconds to open, two seconds held open, and two to close.
Perfect.
"Gomez to Captain Pizman. We've got it down here, thanks to Selmoo's
help. We're now ready to test it fully."
"Acknowledged. We'll let you know when to execute."
**BACK TO THE BRIDGE**
After a bit, the two officers emerged from the ready room. "Mr. Feldar,
take the helm. Mr. Gomez has completed a new technology with the help of
astrophysics officer Selmoo. And we're going to test it--but not here.
Pizval, lay in a course deep into the nebula, out of sight of Kedanya.
We're not officially here, remember."
"Aye sir. Course laid in."
Pizman paused a moment. "Engage."
Part 16: By Sela's Son
**DOCKING PORT 12**
Mr. Morden was finished hear. Everything was laid in place. Now his
associates needed only to light the spark for the keg.
**ROMULUS**
13 Shadow ships appeared. They streaked towards Romulus 35 Wabrids
Broke orbit and set course for intercept. 12 more exited hyperspace. Both
sides opned fire. Orbital Defense systems fired upon the dark enemy.
The shadows using thier 'slice and dice' beams carved up a Romulan
waribrd, then another. A Shadow ship fired off to the side destroying an
orbital defense battery. It then fired another shot at the planet itself
hitting the shield.
it swerved towards the planet itself firing it's horrible weapons at
the planet. Finally the shields collapsed and it fired at the planet itself.
They had to be purged, they were influenced by the Vorlons. The shadow
ship then was struck by a few disruptor
beams freeezing it in place. The three warbirds that had turned to
intercept fired plasma torpedoes at the shadow vessel.
The
torpedoes struck dead on. The Shadow ship withered, it crumpled, it
died. The three warbirds swopped down on the remaining shadow ships like
birds of venegence. One Warbird got a shadow beam right in the hulls, and
then another one spliting the 'neck'. That warbird was wasted. Shadow fighters
headed to the planet, some were destroyed by the orbital defense batteries
but got
into the atmosphere where only Romulan atmospheric defense craft could
respond.
**MALL**
Sela's Son was surprised to find Joia jogging up to join him. It was
a few hours sense he had the dream. People were crowding around the vid-screen.
Sela's son walked to the crowd who the crowd let through for an odd reason.
He watched the screen with Joia.
"This is breaking news from the Romulan Star Empire, brought to you
buy the Federation News Service."
"This is Dan Mather of the Federation News Service, recently these ships
appeared over Romulus," the vid snapped views to shos Shadows ships appearing
over his beloved homeworld . "One of them fired at and got through.
the planetary shields, and fired at a few cities. We believe the death
toll in those cities to be high.."
Sela's Son heard gasps of teror from the crowd.
"We will be showing the battle, live, now and continue until we can
no longer recieve a signal."
The image snapped over 12 Shadows ships remained of the original 13.
Debries of Warbirds hung in space.
A Wabriid came in the side of the screen firing weapons madly. It suddenly
got a slice and dice beam righ through the middle of it, destorying it.
"Look one of the Dark ships is... dying?" someone pointed at the screen.
A Shadow ship withered, crumpled and died.
The battle contiued. Sela's Son headed out followed closely by Joia.
"Sels," it was Mael "you can't go there you'll be destroyed for sure!"
Sela's Son ignored him.
"Sels," Joia spoke, "are you doing what I think you're doing?"
"Yes. I was told if the shadows begain to move openly that thier base
had to be struck at directly..."
"Take me with you."
"NO! Whoever goes may never come back. I am placing you in temporary
command of the fleet."
"but.."
"No buts. Do it for me, for Romulus. For all." with that Sela's Son
spun around.
**KEDANYA BRIDGE**
The crew watched the battle in horror. Suddenly the sensor panel beeped.
"The Draket is heading out, followed by 'The Tolets fell'."
"Sela's son... get him on the com"
"To late he's opened a 'jump point' as he described it. He's gone."
Wes lowered his head knowing it may be for good.
**HYPERSPACE**
The two Warbirds phased and streaked to the long dead world at maximun
speed.
**ROMULUS-ATMOSPHERE**
A romulan Atmospheric Fighter swerved around.
"I got a lock. Firing."
A missle streaked from it's bay and hit the shadow fighter on detonating
an explosive charge. The shadow fighter simply turned to dust.
"Coming Abou-" the fighter exploded in a ball of flame.
Suddenly fire hit the shadow fighters dead on. Defene batteries on
the surface had opened up.
The shadow fighter fought the Tomulan fighters while taking quick shots
at the cities below.
**A Non-Aligned species Space**
A few cruisers patrolled. suddenly a Triad of dark ships appeared.
A battle ensued. The shadows made short work of the cruisers and slipped
off.
**FIRST FEDERATION SPACE**
A Fesarius Class Vessel moved through space. The First Federation knew
of the Shadows. They watched the news broadcast. Suddenly a shadow ship
appeared and fired, two more appeared and fired.
The Fesarius class ship opneed fire back.In the firefight a shadow
ship withered, crmpled, died.
one Fesarius warship was destroyed, but the other one was crippled.
The shadow ships decended to kill thier prey.
suddenly another Fesarius appeared, then another. All three fired all
they had at the shadows ships.
The shadows ships withered, crumpled, because they were dying.
**A LONG DEAD WORLD**
The shadows had begun to move openly. Above thier world two jumppoints
opened and two Warbirds exited the jumppoints. Both opened fired at the
planet immediatley. Plasma torpedoes streaked towards the planet, disruptors,
and vorlon designed beams fired at the surface hoping to destroy some of
the shadow ships. The Draket made a run just
outside the atmopshere. A bay opened on the bottomhalf and hundreds
of little nuclear bombs fell out and raced towards the long sence dead
world. The Tolets fall fired all it hd, but was destroyed sonn thereafter.
The Draket was struck by a 'slice and dice beam' It was struck by anotherone
The Draket slipped off into hyperspace, and when in hyperspace was not
surprised when the shadows ship slipped from real space to hyperspace.
The Draket then went to warp knowing the shadows
would not be able to intercept at that speed now that they also were
in hyperspace.
**DIPLOMATIC MEETING ROOM**
Joia sat in for Sela's Son. She was worried, about him and about the
shadows activities.
"THEY HAVE INVADED OU SPACE!" Garak was shouting.
"Space that once belonged to us!" The Feengi Ambassoder hissed.
"That is of no consequence. You didn't even hand us a declaration of
War!"
"It was our territory bfore you STOLE it."
"Ahh, if you feel so noble about that then let the civilians go!"
"No. Everyone knows that aboard your stations there's only millitary
personell or slaves. There were no slaves."
"I demand that the Alliance declare sanctions on the Ferengi Alliance!"
A few shouted thier approval.
"No, provided the Ferengi let us see the conditions the prisoners are
in." Wes replied.
"Never. Any ship entering our space without clearance will be fired
upon and boarded. I see no further need for this meeting." The Ferengi
Ambassoder stormed out.
**KEDANYA BRIDGE**
The battle over Romulus had ended about half an hour ago. Reports were
still coming in though.
The Ninja Scot stared at the screen. Three cities had suffered heavy
destruction, and some more had minor d estruction. In one city alone one
million to two million casualties were estimated. The Federation, and the
Cardassians had both dispatched Medical ships to assit. The Klingons would
help rebuilb if the Romulans requested it. 22 Warbirds destroyed, many
more damaged, meaning heavier casualties. This was not a good sign. Def
Con one was announced, altough no war with Domiion had started, The Romulans
still kept the defnese force they had dispatched to Kedanya, some outside
while the rest waited in hyperspace. This was not good at all.
"Sir a jump point is opening."
"On screen."
A heavily damaged Draket, the ship Sela's Son had taken out, emerged.
One whole sude of the 'beak' was missing.
A Hole had cut through the wings at an angle leaving a hole on the
bottom left wing, and top right wing. Blast marks were all over the ship.
"Allow them to dock. Contact Docotr Bashir, tell him to expect casualties!"
**Docking Port 34**
Joia and Wes had arrived at thee seen. As soon as the airlock doors
opened injured Romulans, and a few clowns were rushed in. Including Sela's
Son. Sela's Son was had suffered only minor injuries fortuantly. He had
a cut on his cheek, and a gash on his arm that had been quickly covered.
"Sela's Son what happened?" Wes stammered in shock at the sight of
all the wounded Romulans.
"We attacked thier HQ. We knew what would happen if they begain to
move openly. I think I destoryed some of thier ships, and we all hope we
destoryed something else."
Along with the wounded Romulans came Romulan Medical staff to assit
the Federation medical staff.
"Sels, will you be.."
"I'm fine. Dr. Honmorh helped me.
"Wes call the others. We need to talk about a weapon that I fear the
shadows may use if it wasn't destroyed."
"The... cloud?" Joia stammered.
"Yes."
**SELA'S SON's QUARTERS**
Everyone from the previous meeting had gathered. Except Kosh remained
in his quarters.
Sela's Son coughed for attention. He pushed a button.
The screen came to life, showing the battle over Romulus.
"This shows the Shadows are starting to move openly. I fear of what
they might do next."
He pushed anohter button. A Planet appeared, one the was long dead.
"The shjadows are using this as a base. I just recently attacked and
bombed it. Hopefully I destroyd some of thier ships, and hopefully this."
Sels pushed another button.
This time a planet with large cities appeared. Something was wrong
though, a cloud was around it. From isnide the cloud the screen showed
what was happening. Missles streaked from the cloud which seemed to surround
the planet.
"The Shadow Cloud launched larg theremonuclear weapons deep into the
planets core, where they go off. This causes a tectonic chain reaction
whch almost tears the planet apart. From the large explsions from thier
base we think we may have succeded in destroying it. We know if the strike
on Kedanya fails they'll use it. So during the battle
the Parliment of dreams and the Penguoins beak will attack them there.
The Parliment of dreams will attack the planet, allowing the Penguins beak
to launch a Trilithium weapon into the sun, destroying the planet. My two
ships will escape, but the shadows will not. The planet is to close to
the sun."
"So when will the Shadows attack?"
"Not soon. We've shown we can hurt them. They'll bide thier time now,
and wil do something suttle. They'll still drive more Refugees here however."
"We must als try to prevent fear from spreading. The Shadows want that.
They want Chaos and Conflict so fear, is a major weapon in thier rearnol
even deadlier then the Shadow Cloud." Joia mentioned.
"So the Shadow Cloud is a Planet Killer, but you hope to have destroyed
it, or destroy it during the battle right?" Wes asked.
"Right."
"Sels," Martok spoke up "Shouldn't we elect a leader for this fleet
that will fight the Shadows?"
"Ok. Secret ballot though."
Joia handed out ballots.
They all voted.
"Admiral Crusher please tell us the results."
"All votes except one were for you. The other was for me. Obviously
we all agree, that you have experiance with the Shadows, and know how to
fight them."
"Fine. I select Joia to be the second in command. Any further questions?
N? Dismissed."
**MALL 30 minutes later**
Sela's Son walked the mall. Suddenly a man stood up on a table.
"THE END IS COMING! THE FORCES OF THE DARKNESS HAVE STRUCK AT THE ROMULANS!
THEY WERE ABLE TO KILL MILLIONS OF ROMULANS WITH ONLY 12 SHIPS!" The man
was yelling. "If the Romulans can not stop them, who can? The Borg won't
help we know that. Look It's the Romulan Ambassoder, Admiral Sela's Son!
He left the station and came back with one less ship and badly injured!"
Sela's son knew what he had to do.
"I have struck at the Shaodws Headquarters Directly and all I suffered
were minor injuries. They didn't kill me. I carpeted some of that world
with a nuclear blanket of fire! They can be stopped. They wish to enfuse
Chaos and Conflict! Stop spreading fear and they;ll be less powerfull."
Sela's Son went on calming the crowd.
*SELA'S SON'S QUARTERS**
Joia and Sela's Son were conversing.
"Your parants survived Sels."
"Good. The First Federation has dispatched some ships so that should
help."
The door chime rang.
"Who could that be at this hour Sels?"
"I don't know."
Sela's Son opened the door.
"Penny?"
Part 17: By Captain Pizman
**RELMAZ--BRIDGE**
Pizman looked around his bridge. It was completely different from what
he'd had before. Now it was enhanced with holographic image projectors,
all around the bridge. He could literally look around and see a ship coming
from port, starboard, the rear, above--you name the direction; if it wasn't
coming from below, you could literally see it.
It was almost as if they were on a platform in space.
Pizman looked at a PADD Mendock had given him. Two Federation starships
had just arrived.
One he was acquainted with personally. The USS Civilization, under
the command of Captain Koras.
The other was new to him. The USS Avenger, under the command of a Captain
Robert Cheesisty.
Both were being enhanced with limited amounts of the Vorlon technology.
But Pizman's ship was now fitted with as much technology as was allowed
by the Romulans.
The holoprojectors were the only thing aboard at 100% duplication;
the rest were 80% for the detailed schematics, 60% for the general schematics.
Overall, his ship was at 70% possible capacity.
Abruptly a proximity alarm sounded, and a Karemman freighter zoomed
past.
Pizman frowned. No, not a freighter--it was moving too easily.
Mendock had the answer. "Captain, that was a government cruiser that
just decloaked and flew by." Then he, too, frowned.
"No...the quantum signature is wrong. Assuming 500,000 megahertz as
the fulcrum for quantum signatures, this ship is from our mirror universe.
And according to some quantum artifact I'm detecting, it's spent some time
in this universe's mirror."
Pizman paused a moment. If it had spent time in the mirror universe...."Isolate
their warp signature and compare it to ours."
Mendock did so. "It's...completely our opposite," he breathed, astonished.
Pizman grinned. So he'd finally run into the AltRelmaz. "Mendock, hail
the cruiser. Ask for Captain AltPizman...by name."
Though the name violated the basic Carjan name code in his own universe,
in the mirror universe they would no doubt have made this more flexible--at
least by making the requirement three syllables and nine letters, rather
than two syllables and six letters.
A face came up on the screen (which had remained despite the enhancements).
It was like looking into a mirror, the two of them were so alike. Yet this
Pizman was clearly a harried and exhausted man. "This is Captain AltP--"
the mirror image started, then broke off as he saw his counterpart staring
back at him. Composing himself, the mirror Pizman continued, "Ah. We were
beginning to wonder at the exotic power curve. We are here to help, on
the part of the Third Underground. We have banded together to oppose both
the Alliance, and the oppressive government the Terran Rebellion has been
setting up. We have no clues as to the identity of the new Terran leader,
except that whoever it is has persuaded some of my crew to join his cause.
Including a member of my senior crew."
Pizman paused a moment. "AltGardek?"
AltPizman shook his head. "Not him--in fact, I'd like to talk about
him in a few moments. But try again."
Pizman tried again. "AltVelgan?"
AltPizman chuckled. "Would that the obvious trigger-happy choice were
correct. But no."
Pizman guessed a few more names, including AltPizval, finally running
out of guesses. "All right. Which one?"
AltPizman looked grimly back. "My secondary security officer, Alt Vak
Tskej. She suddenly disappeared one morning, having taken a cloaked shuttle
somewhere along with some of my junior officers. Everything points to her
having joined the new Terran Empire."
Pizman sighed. It wouldn't be a perfect reunion. But at least now Pizman
had a liaison for between the two ships, as attempting to meet his counterpart
face-to-face would result in the other getting killed.
The face on the screen continued. "Pizman, there's someone I'd like
you to meet. AltGardek," he said, turning back to his tactical officer
so that Pizman could also see him, "begin broadcast from quarters B7 on
deck 4."
The picture split in half so Pizman could see both the AltRelmaz's
bridge, and...
The face that showed on the other side shocked Pizman. But AltGardek
had been on the bridge...
"Captain Pizman. Good to see you again." Gardek's cold tone was just
as he remembered it.
Pizman stammered. "Gardek...but...you were on the AltReunion when it
blew up..."
"The emergency transporter system put me in an escape pod. I got beamed
aboard the AltRelmaz, but we all warned Captain Pizman of the danger of
me meeting my counterpart, so his life was spared all this time. Now if
I'm given the chance to leave this ship, I won't have to worry about accidentally
killing anyone." At this he gave a grin.
Pizman forced his own grin down. "Prepare to beam over. If you are
who you claim to be, I'll reinstate you as chief tactical officer." He
didn't need to say what would happen if he were a fake. "Welcome back,
Gardek. Pizman out." At this, he wheeled in his chair. "Solek, brother,
both of you are with me. Take over, Feldar." He tapped his badge as he
and the others entered the lift. "Commander Garmin, meet me in Transporter
Room 1."
**RELMAZ--TRANSPORTER ROOM 1**
"I don't need to remind you that Gardek's still suspected as a former,
if not current, CSP agent," Pizman was saying to the other officers as
he entered the transporter room. He turned to the chief. "Mr. Obemil, energize."
A light appeared on the pad, resolving into the form of Lt. Commander
Gardek.
Garmin rushed to the pad, then gave Gardek a thorough scan. "It's him.
Quantum signature matches too."
Pizman smiled, then shook hands with his old crewmate. "Welcome back,
Gardek."
Gardek smiled uncharacteristically. "It's good to be back."
Part 18: By Sela's Son
Penny slipped in the roo, allowing the door to close.
"Sels I've come back." Penny smiled at him.
"Who is this?!" Joia aksed, obviously upset.
"This is Penny. She's an old friend."
"Old?" Joia asked.
"Yes she left a while back, and suddenly. I never got to say goodbye."
"Who is she?" Penny asked.
"This is Joia, my fiance."
"Oh, congratulations." Penny stammered.
Penny looked at Sela's Son and then at Joia, still surprised.
"Penny, what are you doing here?"
"I came to see you.. came to see if you were ll right. I was also hoping
your mother is ok."
"As you can see I'm fine. So's my mother."
Joia noticed something. A Pin, a blue pearl with two humanoid shapes
at either end that melted down to the bottom forming Olive Branches similar
to that on the Federation banner. Penny was a Ranger? At that point penny
clasped Sela's Son's hand.
"Penny, White Star 89 has been put under your command. By the way Penny,
thanks."
"You're welcome."
"Good-bye Penny."
"Good-bye Sels."
Penny walked over to the transporter and was beamed over to a Shuttle
where she was shuttled over into hyperspace where her ship waited. A pause
followed afterwords. Sela's Son then walked over to the panel and took
a few objects out of his hand and placed them in front of him. Joia walked
over.
"Isolinear Rods?
"Yes. They contain important information. You might want to pull up
a chair, I'm afraid his isn't great news."
Joia stared. Video Footage. About 12 shadow ships were firing on the
surface of a planet, Fires could be seen below, entire cities being destroyed
or destroyed. One of the Shadow ships was firing at the polar ice caps,
then more were.
The image changed. A Ferengi Spacedock.
"Looks like they're building a new ship, it's huge whatever it is."
"They're building more then one. Look." Joia pointed.
Indeed, the image zoomed out revealing 3 such ships being built.
**REUNION BRIDGE**
The sound of workers could be heard. Wes looked around, confused. Sela's
Son was upgrading his ship. Sela's Son had noted that the enhancements
wouldn't be as drasic sd the ones Pizand himself had recieved.
"Testing new viewing system."
"What?" Wes asked.
Suddenly it was as if he was standing on the floor in space. he could
see the bridge, but could see in all directions around the ship except
underneath.
"Like it Admiral?"
"Yes," Wes responded nervously, "I'm going back to the station."
Wes walked to the turbolift.
**Sa'toth, Mirror universe**
Upgraded with Shadow Tech to an extent he Sa'toth was more powerfull.
It had immunity to the one weakness the Shadow ships
did have fortuantly.-
"Bring her about. FITRE"
Alt Vak pushed a button on her console. A purple beam shot out and
hit the ship directly in the center.
The beam hit the Carjan ship in the center, hurting it.
"Good the Shadow enhancements have made this ships defensive capabilities
strong, and weapons a little stronger."
"Direct hit on out upper port wing. 8-% of damage absorbed."
Alt Sela's Son let out a chuckle.
"Finish them off."
The Sa'toth came about and fired all it's weapons onto the Carjan Cruiser.
It was soon destroyed.
"the Stealth abilites are so much stronger, they didn't even get to
raise thier shields before we hurt them!"
"They lost thier shield generators before they got to use them. It
was easy then."
"I'm satisified with the damage resistance. I'm glad I didn't accept
the full tech upgrade, that'd make this ship look like one of thier ships
in colorand appearance. Besides this came at a high enough price anyways."
Alt Vak Tskej smiled.
"Sels, shall we phase?"
"Yes.," Sela's Son paused for a bit "Vak, my wife, set course for Vulcan.
Maximum Speed. I have a plan."
"Aye." Alt Vak Tskej grinned, he has something planned that will help
the Terran Rebellion, she was glad she defected.
Commercial Break by Pizman
*COMMERCIAL BREAK**
(Okay, pan the camera across the Kedanya Mall, good. Stop, stop, there's
our man. Yeah, the yellow guy staring straight at us. Zoom in...very nice...no,
that's way too close, zoom back out...that's it...perfect.)
*Yellow man speaks*
"Hello, this is Captain Pizman. You may know me as a character from
the USS Reunion stories. But I'm here to tell you about a problem among
many espionage agents. You see, even though many are able to conceal themselves,
they usually have to find a shadow or other type of concealing feature."
(Keep the camera focused as he's moving...that's it...whoops, too far,
bring it back...there we go...)
"Trapped in a light room with no cover in sight? Here's a solution.
The Carjatronics X-1000 personal cloaking device. Makes you completely
invisible, and impervious to most sensors. Also look for the X-1200 with
enhanced power pack. Available at The Darker Image. See you there...or
not!"
*Yellow man hits button on device and vanishes*
(Blast! Where'd he go? Look around, easy...wait, look out for that--)
*snow job, fade to black*
**WE NOW RETURN YOU TO YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAM**
Part 19: By Pizman
**RELMAZ--BRIDGE**
The two Carjan cruisers were now side-by-side, decloaked, along with
the rest of the ships that were surrounding Kedanya. By now the AltRelmaz
too had been enhanced, but only to about 60% of that of the Relmaz--about
40% that of the warbirds. AltPizman told Pizman over a comm link that,
while in the mirror universe, they had modified several Karemman freighters
for use as attack ships against the Empire and the Alliance. But recently
the movement had been taking unexpected opposition from a powerful new
ship.
Pizman realized they were talking about the Sa'Toth 1, and possibly
the Shadow ships. He realized that for this third movement to succeed,
modifications would have to be made on all the ships there.
As Pizman sat in his chair, he contemplated this. And he could only
hope his people would succeed--and in a better way that his own government
had.
As he thought this, Solek said, "Sir, look forty-five degrees above
the main viewscreen.
Pizman did this, and was shocked to see four Ferengi D'Kora-class marauders
closing in on them, fast.
He did the only thing he could do. "Red Alert. All hands to battle
stations." He looked behind him and saw Velgan was at the tactical station.
Pizman paused a moment, then said, "Commander Gardek to the bridge." He
would need all the experience he could get--without Velgan's trigger-happiness.
Velgan looked disappointed. But then again, until Gardek had even transferred
to the ship days before its fateful journey, Velgan had been chief tactical
officer, just like he'd been the last few months.
But now, it was going to change again. Gardek, along with several other
bridge crew, appeared on the bridge. Velgan seemed a bit reluctant in handing
over tactical, but he finally relented and left the bridge for Security.
Gomez took the engineering spot. Solek, who had been off-duty, manned the
science station.
The new holoprojecting system was coming in handy. It was allowing
Pizman to make judgements as to where ships were and would allow him to
see them without his crew having to let him know.
Still, it was frighteningly real. And whenever a ship whizzed by at
very high speed, everyone felt the urge to duck even though they didn't
feel any wind.
Gardek adjusted quickly to the new system, and was soon scoring hits
on the marauders, one by one.
"Sir, a Marauder is firing on us--shields at 70 percent...sir, our
aft shield just went down. Taking heavy pulse fire from that quarter."
Gardek looked up at Pizman. "Sir, 75 percent of the phaser fire is being
completely absorbed by this hull. Even albative armoring couldn't account
for this."
Pizman realized he'd have to confide in his old crewmate later what
was happening. Risky, perhaps, but mending a broken relationship could
pay off immensely.
Gardek was looking at his console. "Sir, we're getting help, bearing
one-nine-four mark two. It's the other ships that are here."
Pizman looked behind him. Sure enough, the Akira-class Avenger, the
Progress-class Civilization, the D'Deridex-class Reunion, the ap Moren
Mynawg-class ap Baeddan, and the cruiser-class AltRelmaz were approaching
fast. The motley fleet was making its way through the nebula to assist
the Relmaz.
**KERMALL NEBULA**
Some Romulan warbirds decloaked behind them. Sela's Son's warbirds,
including the Sa'Toth II.
Together, the combined forces of the Federation and the Romulans, aided
with
Vorlon technology, made short work of the Ferengi ships. Four ships against
a great many would be hard-pressed to defend themselves. Had the allied
ships not had enhancements, one of them might have been destroyed, and
several more damaged. As it was, they barely showed signs of their presence.
The Vorlon-enhanced ships had proven their worth against lesser foes.
But would it be enough against a foe that was greater than the Borg itself?
Part 20: By Sela's Son
**VULCAN MIRROR UNIVERSE**
"And these dark forces are moving openly. They're a worse foe then
the Borg other Universe would be if they crossed over. They recently attacked
one of our baseslocated where a planet called Romulos would be in the other
universe. I have contacted the Regent. For the duration of hostilities
with this dark enemy we will work together to destroy this dark foe. These
Shadows have been defeated once at Terok Nor. They shall be defeated again.
I have sent some Enhanced Husnocks and a some raiders over to the other
side. On the other side an alliance is forming against the foe. These Shadows
are moving even more openly on the other side!
I will send a task force over to assist, but the Sa'toth will stay
hear. "
Alt Vak Tskej stood by her husband and smiled, this would raise moral.
She also knew that her husbands new recruit, a Terran named Joia, would
make a great Tactical officer on the Sa'toth.
**REUNION**
Numerous Dimensional portals opened outside the station.
"Sir there are numerous dim."
"I see it." Wes sighed. He saw it all around him.
Husnock ships, and some other Terran ships pulled into formation.
"Sir they're hailing."
"Open a channel."
Alt Janor came up on the screen.
"The New Terran Empire wishes to inform you that the Alliance and the
Terrans have formed an Alliance against the Shadows. Soon an Alliance Task
Force will also appear."
"I thought you were a rebellion."
"Not now. We're to strong for that. Vulcan, ALpha Centauri, and what
renains of Earth have been liberated."
"Ok. Report to Admiral Sela's Son, he'll assign your posistion."
Janor looked surprised. "All right Commodore Janor out."
Little did anyone know that Janor would succumb to the darkness in
the battke of light and dark that lay ahead.
**Sa'toth II**
"Take posistion on the left Flank. have the Alliance forces take posistion
on the right flank. Have the extra Romulan forces, a few of ours, a quarter
of the Federation ships, and the Forces from timelien 3 take posistion
in hyperspace. Set up the other forces as you see fit."
Admiral Sela's son ordered.
"Aye sir." Burpo went to the Com station and carried out his orders.
"I also want the Vree Saucers, the 101st D'Deridex force and three
of the Fesarius Ships as reserves."
"Aye."
"Sir, the Cardassian outpost in sector 45 by 78 by 23 is under attack
by Ferengi Forces. Those forces include three Large and powerfull Ferengi
Battleshps."
"Contact Pizman, Wes, and the other task force commanders and show
it in my ready room."
Sela's Son walked to his ready room where he'd watch the battle.
Part Blackj... errr...21: By Pizman
**SA'TOTH II**
Soon Sela's Son, Wes, Pizman, Garak, Martok, AltSolek, AltTux, and AltBurpo
were seated around a holographic representation of the battle. (The regular
Burpo and Tux were aboard their ships, readying for a fight near the station.
The regular Solek was currently on duty aboard the Relmaz.)
Naturally, Garak was pensive. These were his people the Ferengi were
attacking, and he wished for their survival. The Ferengi ships on the right
flank attacked the Cardassians on the left flank viciously. (The directions
are from each combatant's point of view; the Cardassian left flank corresponds
to the Ferengi right flank.) The nearby Cardassian ships
rushed over to suppress the attack. Which was what the other Ferengi
ships had wanted them to do. The entire rest of the Ferengi fleet crashed
over the Cardassians' right flank. The Cardassians, realizing their mistake,
tried to break off the attack and stop them from reaching the outpost.
Pizman stared in awe. Whoever was coordinating this was a supreme military
commander.
The Cardassians had managed to get some of their ships to block the
Ferengi onslaught. But it wouldn't be long until the outpost itself was
fired upon... Suddenly, behind the Ferengi lines, a new set of ships appeared.
Several were identified as Ferengi battleships. One was a Ferengi military
dreadnought, under the command of Grand Nagus Rom. The other was the Federation
starship Defiant.
AltSolek was monitoring the communications. So like my science officer,
Pizman thought.
Now something was obviously happening. The ships in the picture grew
still as several communications passed between the Ferengi newcomers and
the instigators of the attack. "The Nagus is demanding that the attacking
ships stand down, and that if they don't they'll be left for dead when
the new Cardassian forces arrive." As if to punctuate AltSolek's words,
a set of Keldon-class warships suddenly appeared behind the beleaguered
Hidekis and Galors. "The daimons are wanting to know why the Nagus is refusing
to help. The Defiant is hailing now--" AltSolek cut off. "This is highly
unusual. The commander of the Defiant indentifies himself as the Sisko."
Pizman inhaled sharply. Only a year and a half ago, Ben Sisko had joined
the Prophets in the Celestial Temple. If the Sisko had to leave the Temple
for some reason, the situation had to be dire indeed.
"The Sisko is now saying that the war that these rogue Ferengi want
was driven by profit. But he also is quoting the unrevised 34th Rule of
Acquisition, in its entirety: 'War is good for business, but only from
a distance. Too close to the war is dangerous.' He goes on to say that
a war with the Cardassians would end up being costlier than it would be
profitable." A short pause. "The rogue daimons are responding that their
culture has been corrupted by Ishka and her troupe, and now by Rom. The
Sisko is replying that their leader was a daimon who lost a son to the
Cardassians and wanted nothing but revenge. He was not motivated by profit
at all. He is presenting compelling evidence..." This went on for several
minutes.
Finally, Solek reported, "The ringleader has been arrested by his own
crew. It seems that he was the Ferengi ambassador at the conference. The
rest of the Ferengi ships are now back under the command of Grand Nagus
Rom. Sir..." he broke off and turned to Wesley Crusher. "We now have an
incoming message from the Grand Nagus. For you, and requesting visual."
Wesley Crusher paused a moment. "Put it on the screen here," he finally
decided.
The face of the relatively young Nagus filled the screen at the end
of the room. "Uh, I wanted to talk to Admiral Crusher. Which one is he?"
Pizman suppressed a chuckle. The Ferengi was a bit of a bumbler, but
he seemed to know what he was doing for the most part.
Wes raised his hand. "Nagus? You wished to speak with me?"
"Uh, yes. I just wanted you to know that, uh, some of our ships from
the Ferengi Alliance will be joining your forces, uh, as soon as we can
get there. Prell, what was the ETA again? Oh, thank you. Thirty-six hours,
Admiral. Uh, we'll be glad to help you and all the other ships you have
there."
Wes smiled. So did the rest of the leaders present. "We'll be glad
to have you join us," he replied. "We hope to see you then."
"Good. Nagus out." The screen blanked.
Pizman paused a moment to reflect. The entire known galaxy had unified
against this one power. But what would happen once that power decided to
attack openly?
Would they succeed? Or would they fail?
Only time would tell.
Part 22: By Sela's Son
Admiral Crusher and the other leaders were about to leave when the intercom
went off.
"Admiral Sels?"
"Yes Burpo?"
"I got some bad news."
"What?"
"It's Qo'nous.. it's under attack by the shadows."
Sela's Son sighed and ordered a view. Soon his ready room seemed to
be in space, again.
Qo'nous in it's greenity was behind Sels. The shadows comin from about
70 some degrees in the air in 30 degrees to the left of Sels. All in all
there were about 8 Shadows Vessels.
"Martok?"
"Don't worry. I assigned a Defnese Garrison."
Suddenly two Neghvars decloaked, folowed by 20 Vor'chas and Countless
K'vorts. The Two neghvars concentrted thier firepower on the Capital Shadow
ships. Soon the orbital Defense batteries opened fire as well. The shadows
fired a few shots at the planet and launched thier fighters.
"Sir I'm getting another Report. Earth Is under attack, sir wait Cardassia
is under attack to, Ferenginar to!"
Alt Tux looked up from hus communicator.
"Sirs the shadows in our universe are assaulting Terok Nor. The Terran
ships there, nearby Alliance ships have engaged them. We believe we will
win. Sadly the Sa'toth will not be able to arrive before that battle is
over."
"Sir I do have some good news. Ther last of the First Federation forces
have arrived. I had 50% enter hyperspace. I'll keep you informed on the
battles."
Sela's Son tapped a button. suddenly the space around the Sa'toth II
could be observed.
"Ummm what's that. It's ugly!"
A small Black ship could be seen. it moved slowly.
"Joia," Sela's Son tapped his badge. "Move in and destroy that ship!"
"Aye, Full Impulse. Powering up weapons."
The scene seemd to move. They hurtled towards the death omen that was
the Shadow Scout. The Shadow Scout reversed continuing away, but now faced
the Sa'toth. It fired hitting the front of the beak of the ship. Shortly
thereafter plasma torpedoes and disruptor beams lashed out at the opposing
ship.
"They're moving in to Ram us!" Pizman shouted.
Just as the ship was about to hit everyone ducked instinctivly, then
the opposing ship blew apart as a plasma torpedo struck it dead center.
"Joia Bring us about. Take us back to our posistion."
"Aye."
Pizman looked around space waiting for death's hand to smite them.
Then he looked at Sela's Son.
"Admiral won't the shadows come soon now?"
"Yes. They're hoping to disrupt the Alliance we have created against
them by attacking our homeworlds, and one of the Mirror Universe's largest
strongholds."
"Admiral," Garak asked "How long till they attack."
"Not to long. More and more Refugees are heading here. I suspect the
Ferengi Forces will arrive at the beginning of the battle at the earliest."
Suddenly the intercom activated again.
"Federation and Ferengi homeworld forces are beating back the shadows
a bit now, but the shadows have fired some shots at all worlds. Also a
large Dominion War Fleet has exited the wormhole. No signals from them."
**KEDANYA BRIDGE**
Security Chief Scot was to command the station during the upcoming
battle. Sela's Son had done some minor upgrades on the station including
a wonderfull viewing design. He walked and headed to the Turbolift.
Part 23: By Pizman
**LWAXANA TROI'S QUARTERS**
Lwaxana finally gave up on relaxing. The bad feeling that had been pursuing
her all day was getting stronger by the minute.
She had to tell someone.
She hit her badge. "Lwaxana Troi to Wesley Crusher. Maybe it's nothing,
but I've had a bad feeling about something all day. I can't put my finger
on it, though...."
"Lwaxana, could you describe--" Wes was momentarily cut off. She could
hear whispering going on in the background.
Through the link, she could sense that someone was very alarmed about
this. Sela's Son. And what she found him thinking...
"Wes?" she interrupted. "If what Sela's Son is thinking is true, we've
got to get mobilized right away."
Wes paused a moment. "How--never mind, you're right. We might need
you shortly, so please report to my office within an hour. Wes out."
**SA'TOTH II**
Sela's Son had beamed back a few minutes ago. He'd been on the bridge
for only a minute when he realized he still had something he needed to
do. He headed for the turbolift.
**KEDANYA--MAIN BRIDGE**
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!"
A short silence...
"What happened?"
"Where is he?"
"He fell down!"
"Fell down?"
"Who?"
"The Ninja!"
"Fell down where?"
"The turbolift..."
The current bridge crew of Kedanya Station gathered in front of the
turbolift door to see it for themselves. Well, everyone knew that this
station still needed some things to be fixed, but the turbolift was always
working up to now.
"Ninja?" Ensign Regis's voice was more amused than really worried;
the Ninja Scot had been in worse situaitons without hurting himself. "Are
you all right?"
"Laz!" The loud voice from down there showed that he was. After all,
the lift was stuck directly under the bridge. So the Ninja Scot only fell
about 3 meters. He really had been in worse situations...
"Ninja?" Lazarus Long appeared in the still open door, looking down.
"Are you..."
"Yes, yes, laddie... I'm all right." The Ninja Scot was already climbing
up, almost as amused as the ensign. "Didn't ye tell me the lift was workin'?"
"I said it seemed to be working, sir... that's a slight difference!"
The cargomaster looked at the Ninja, certainly asking himself why so many
people were so impercise most of the time.
"Okay, fine..." TNS stared down and shook his head. "See to it, Mr.
Long. I dinnae plan t' have th' crew climbin' up and down the Jefferies
tubes, y' know."
"Sir, we've got a report from the Reunion." Regis was back at his console.
"All forces are in position."
"Good." It would be a fierce battle. And really, why had he tried to
go anywhere in the first place? "Activate th' holo-projectors. I want to
see everythin' as it's happening."
**RELMAZ--BRIDGE**
Pizman sat in the command chair. Sela's Son and Wes had just given the
order to prepare for an imminent incursion. The holographic technology
on the bridge was active, and it showed the Sa'Toth II opening something
that looked like a wormhole.
"Sir, hail from the Sa'Toth II. Sela's Son wants us to follow him in."
"By all means. I can't wait to see this."
The Romulan ships were already going in. Several strange ships were
close behind. His ship was among those ships. Lagging behind was the AltRelmaz,
which kept its distance in order to prevent any of their crew from accidentally
getting killed in close proximity to the Relmaz.
They went into the opening to see an even stranger yet glorious sight.
They were in a black realm, covered in red clouds. Occasionaly there would
be a white flash, almost like lightning. In this realm with them were thousands
upon thousands of deadly-looking warships.
Mendock couldn't contain himself. "Holy cow! Look at all those ships!"
Pizman, however, was concerned about something else. "Solek, where
are we?"
Solek looked at his instruments. "We appear to be inside some sort
of hyperspace realm. I have little doubt that the Shadow ships will have
trouble detecting us here. They may, however, detect the exit portal we
will be using to get out."
Pizman contemplated this. "Still, they don't detect us here. We still
have surprise on our side."
"Indeed. The crew transfer has been completed, by the way."
"Ashton Snelgrove, the hotshot pilot?"
Solek nodded. "Yes."
Pizman smiled ironically. "We'll soon see if he's as good a pilot as
he claims."
**RELMAZ--SCIENCE LAB**
Belcho was still aboard the Relmaz. Sela's Son had explained to Pizman
the importance of "teeps" in this battle. Pizman finally agreed to have
one of the clowns stay aboard. It would help him in his plans.
Gomez and Selmoo continued to make detail adjustments to the rifting
device.
**SA'TOTH II**
"MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
A short silence...
"What happened?"
"Where is he?"
"He fell down!"
"Fell down?"
"Who?"
"The Admiral!"
"Fell down where?"
"The turbolift..."
The bridge crew of the Sa'Toth II gathered in front of the turbolift
door to see it for themselves. Well, everyone knew that this ship's upgrades
would cause some problems, but the turbolift was always working up to now.
"Admiral?" Vendrimi's voice was more amused than really worried; Sela's
Son had been in worse situaitons without hurting himself. "Are you all
right?"
"Joia!" The loud voice from down there showed that he was. After all,
the lift was stuck directly under the bridge. So Sela's Son only fell about
3 meters. He really had been in worse situations...
"Admiral?" Joia appeared in the still open door, looking down. "Are
you..."
"Yes, yes,... I am alright." Admiral Sela's Son was already climbing
up, almost as amused as Vendrimi. "Didn't you tell me the lift was working?"
"I said it seemed to be working, sir... that's a slight difference!"
Vendrimi looked at Sela's Son, certainly asking himself why the admiral
was so impercise most of the time.
"Oh, well, fine..." Sela's Son stared down and shook his head. "See
to it, Joia. I don't want any more systems compromised during this battle."
**USS REUNION--BRIDGE**
The upgraded warbird was at stationkeeping. Somehow Wes kept thinking
that he was in for the battle of his life. Thousands of ships at his station...thousands
upon thousands more tucked away in hyperspace nearby...and who knew how
many ships the Shadows would send?
Lwaxana Troi's bad feeling had turned into sheer dread, as if darkness's
omniscent hand was soon going to grapple the station, the ships, and everyone
aboard.
Abruptly, hundreds of dark, insectlike ships appeared in front of them,
still several minutes out, but with deadly intent. The Shadows had come
to bring final darkness to the station of Glory.
Part 24: By Sela's Son
**REGENCY TWO**
"Sir hundreds.. no correction thousands of Shadow ships have appeared."
"On screen." Alt Tux commanded.
"That's ALOT of ships." A Bajoran crewmember remarked.
"Red Alert."
Lights dimmed. Red lights flashed.
**REUNION**
"All Hands Red Alert!"
Suddenly bright flashes went off. The 1st Nuclear mindfield of 2 had
went off.
Lwaxy grimaced.
"Admiral.. They're ticked."
**SA'TOTH II**
Science oficer report!
"The Shadows are like a hound dog without a bone, not happy. 83 Ships
destroyed."
"Thanks. Wait tell the shooting starts. Then open jimp points on to
of them and engage. Keep the Vree, some Warbirds, and some of the Drazi
back as reserves. Also have every last fighter we have ready."
**EARTH**
The Federation had fended off the Shadows. Sadly the shadows did get
some shots at the planet just like all the homeworlds.
**QO'NOUS**
A Hysterical Klingon Admiral held parties in honor of the glorious
battles. The Shadows were without honor, but a formidable foe.
**CARDASSIA**
Another day of morning. Servieces would be held. One Pound of food
would be put in the reserve for each Cardassian killed by the Shadows wether
in the Millitary or on the Planet.
**FERENGINAR**
For once part of the planet was dry. Shirts, and headskirts were eing
made with the Slogan "I survived the Shadow attack of 2385!"
**BAJOR**
No Shadows had been seen. The Militia was mobilized, and Federation,
Klingon, and the Two Warbirds stationed at DS9 would help defend any attack
by the Shadows. Also a few Keldons has decided to help defend te area.
**DOMINION WARFLEET**
The fleet traveled to a station called "Kedanya".
It'd be hours before they arrived. One way or another they're regain
honor lost in the War of the Alpha Quadrent as the Founders put it.
**BORG UNIMATRIX 001**
A lone ship had appeared and fired into the mass of ships, and then
disapeared. Caught in surprise three cubes and a small station had been
lost as thier defense systems were offline, and the explosion of one cube
caused collateral damage anyways. Then each cube that folowed did the same.
The Alpha Quadrant was united against some dark foe. After this battle
or war would come a wondefull time for the Colelctive to strike. Right
now the Borg were to busy eradicating a Kazon Fleet.
Part 25: By Pizman
**SA'TOTH--BRIDGE**
Sela's Son waited for the appropriate moment to strike. It wasn't quite
time yet; he had to wait for something to happen first...
"Sir, the second nuclear minefield registers as 'detonated'. The Shadows
have reached the perimeter."
Sela's Son nodded. "Now."
**RELMAZ--BRIDGE**
Pizman paced around the bridge. He had thought about walking into the
lift and getting a bite in the galley, but Solek had detected an anomaly
in the EPS system and had to shut them down. Pizman didn't want to repeat
his action the first time he'd entered this galaxy, so he'd wisely stayed
on the bridge.
"Sir, hail from the Sa'Toth. We're heading out."
Pizman stopped his pacing and dashed back to his chair. Taking a seat,
he pointed a finger forward. To the secondary helm officer, he ordered,
"Launch the fighters. Engage."
**USS REUNION--BRIDGE**
"Forty-seven more Shadow ships have been obliterated by the nuclear
mines." Lazarus Long's report came promptly following a flash on the screen.
"The rest of the ships have penetrated the outer defenses and are heading
toward Kedanya, full speed."
Wes shifted uncomfortably in his seat. He'd wanted to go down to Engineering
to see how things were doing, but he didn't want to take the access tube
all the way down there.
He became agitated as the ships approached. Where were the other ships?
"Sir, I'm detecting a distortion opening. It's between us and the Shadow
Fleet." The warp point quickly formed, then a swarm of small ships poured
from its mouth. The swarm quickly began to open fire on the dark, shadowy
ships of death.
The battle for Kedanya had begun.
Part 26: By Lazarus Long
n all his life, Lazrus had seen many things. War, was unfortunately,
one fo them. The Shadows fought, and died. Others fought and died. Every
hit, every miss was resplendent against the holographic backdrop that surrounded
the bridge. Brilliant stars of death blossemed in the night. Rinforcements
were streaming infrom acros the quadrant. Fleets of mutual enemies protected
each other and said thier sad farewells.
He knew from his travlells how this came out in the Shadow's home universe.
But how would it end here. He looked about him, and let his mind wander.
THe Shaodws represent chaos. Chaos was, by definition, unpredictable. So,
where was the pattern they followed?
"Sir. It's time." He told Wes. Two layers of nuclear mines, now for
the third defensive assault.
Wes nodded. "Make it so."
"Lazarus to all Telepaths. Open up." He was condemming poeple to die.
but they knew the risks, and took it all in stride.
The pattern. What was the pattern?
Part 27: By Sela's Son
**SA'TOTH II**
Some clowns closed thier eyes and reached out with thier minds. They
mentally attacked the Shadow ships.
**Minbari Sharlin class cruiser Drafeem**
Three Minbari Telepaths (not many Minbari were Teeps).
All over the fleet teeps lashed out.
**SA'TOTH II**
"Sir," Joia spoke up. "234 Shadow ships are jammed!"
"FIRE at the nearest ship. Minbari Cruiser Drafeem and the Burpo's
nose should follow in with us."
The three ships fired everything they had at the Shadow ship.
"Fire Plasma Torpedoes."
Soon Plasma Torpedoes exited thier bays and hit the Shadow ship. It
shrivled, it crumpled, it was dying.
The shadows now turned thier attention to ships with alot of telepaths.
"Sir," Centuirian Jefan spoke up, "A shadow ship is com-"
To late. A Purole beam lashed out and scorched the port side of the
Sa'toth's bow. It fired again leaving a long gash on the upper port wing.
**BRIDGE SA'TOTH II**
A Metal Beam seemd to come out of nowehre and banged into Jefan sending
him flying to the bak of the bridge.
Some sparks flew as a few wires connecting the Primary Tactical station
short circuited.
"Rerouting Tactical Console Circuitry to auxilary circuits." The Centurian
at tactical reported.
Without needing orders the Helmsman took evasive manuuvers. The Sa'toth
II pulled off. The other Romulan ships, A few Minbari ships and fighters
attached to those ships all fired on the Shadow ship. The Sa'toth II's
rear weapons fired and hit dead on.
The shadow ship shriviled, it crumpled, it was dying.
**RELMAZ**
"Sir the Sa'toth II took a hit to the port side of thier bridge. No
critical systems damaed."
"Fire at will Velgan." Pizman ordered knowing Velgan would be all to
happy to comply.
"Solek, arm the one new eapon Sels had installed. the anti-fighter
one."
Solek pushed a few buttons and three small turrets popped up and fired
rapid little bursts of energy into the shadow Fighters.
This weapon was Vree in Origen and ripped the small fighters to shreds
now that it was also enhaned by the Vorlon enhancements on the Relmaz.
**REUNION**
Wes wiped the cut on his cheek.
"Keep Firing. DO NOT STOP."
"Sir."
"Yes Kurn?"
"Incoming Ferengi Vessals. 2 Minutes until they're within firing range
of the Shadow ships."
"Never again will I throw a joke about the Ferengi Millitary."
**AP BAEDDON**
"Come about. See the shadow ship heading towards the Reunion's squad?
Kill It."
The Squad led by the Ap Baeddon opened fire.
Three Galaxies, two soveriegns, and various other support ships (including
three Ambassoders and Seven Excelsiors) all opened fire. The Shadow ship
fired a few shots into the squad ripping apart on of the Ambassoders and
cutting a nice neat hole the size of a small building in one of the Galaxies.
The shadow ship was then overwhelmed as a Narn Group also opened fire.
Soon a Shadow ship struck at the Aquad as it flew by heading towards
a Brakiri squad. It destroyed one of the Galaxies, and damaged a Soveriegn.
**FRENGI COMMAND SHIP**
"Nagus, three Shadows ships have broken off from the battle and heading
towards us."
"Umm... that's bad isn't it?" Rom asked with a sense of Sarcasm. Just
then a Jump point opened and hundreds of Saucers similar to those of Legand
on many worlds including Earth, Qo'nous, Ferenginar, and others; that describe
UFOs. These saucers moved swiftly and had unbelievable agility. At about
the same time the Ferengi and Vree were in range of the three Dark ships.
At the same time they fired. The three Shadow ships fired away at the ships
that they were to kill. Soon three shadow ships were shriveling, crumpeling
and dying. Altough a bunch of Marauders and some Vree Saucers had been
destroyed as well.
**SA'TOTH II**
"Save the Drazi reserves and Miscelaneous ships for next. The First
Federation will be our last wave."
"Aye."
A Romulan Medic ran a device over Sela's Son quickly sealing a wound.
The medic then ran over to another Romulan on the bridge.
**EARTH**
Crowds gathered in the Times Square of New York (which had been rebuilt
after World War Three with Vulcan assitance). They watched the battle with
fear. In Paris Jaresh Inyo hoped that the alliance of light would win.
**QO'NOUS**
The council had made a decree. Wether the battle is won or lost everyone
who had died in that battle, or any battle going on against the shadows
during the battle for Kedanya would be honored. Each name would be inducted
on a list, etched in stone for all to see, in a new wing in the hall of
Warriors.
**Romulos**
The Contiuing Commitee had pulled a rabbit out of the hat. With thousands
dead, and millions injured the next month or two would be gloomy. The three
large cities and four towns that had been decimated had been evacuated.
Anything that wanted to be taken was taken. After the cities had been evacuated
the excess debries has been transported to a recycling unit. Noe the cities
were being rebuilt and completly modernized.
Using Large replicators the cities were quickly being rebuilt. the
extra material would be used elsewhere as needed. Also a probe launched
through one of R'mors wormholes detected that a Borg Force would be coming
tothe Alpha Quadrant in three months.
**SA'TOTH II**
"Sir, I'm detecting a jump point forming."
"Where?"
Joia pointed.
"Oh no. Not the Drakh. Sela's Son to fleet. Those ships are Drakh ships.
They are servants of Chaos in a way. They serve the Shadows. They are to
be considered Hostile."
Part 28: By Captain Pizman
***RELMAZ--BRIDGE**
Pizman's squadron had dealt severe damage to the Shadow fleet. Two of
the enemy ships had been killed.
But there were still more out there. And the jammed ships wouldn't
stay jammed for too much longer. Pizman decided it was time to show his
hand.
"Bridge to science lab. Power up the rifting device."
"Aye sir."
Soon, a rift opened in front of them. The Relmaz and its squadron flew
into the three-second rift and was on the other side of it.
Solek called from his console. "We have reached the mirror universe."
"Good." Pizman moved his ship to where he wanted, and opened another
rift. Soon enough, they were back in the battle, and they surprised another
Shadow ship. Phaser beams raked across its side.
"Scratch one more," remarked Pizval. Sure enough, it was dying.
**RELMAZ'S RAIDER SQUADRON--BLACK 1**
"Watch your back!" Feldar threw his fighter into a scissors roll as
one of the Shadow fighters fired on it. It missed, but his maneuvers weren't
shaking it.
Fortunately the transmissions were vox, so he had only to say, "Stormcloud,
I need some help here." Feldar couldn't hold the guy off forever...
"I've got it," came a new voice. A moment later, the fighter vanished.
Feldar smiled to himself. Obemil had insisted that Ashton Snelgrove
was a good pilot. But time and again, "Smelly" had proven himself to be
the equal to Feldar himself. "Thanks, Smelly."
Just then, he saw his comerade was being chased. "Smelly, you've picked
up a tail." He brought his raider around to try to pick the fighter up
himself. "Stormcloud" and "Razorback" were elsewhere, no doubt dealing
with fighers of their own.
He managed to get behind Smelly, but he couldn't get a clear shot.
"Smelly, I need you to bank left on my signal. Three...two...one...bank!"
Smelly banked right, leaving Feldar a nice open shot. A moment later,
the fighter crumpled and fell apart. Feldar smiled again. "My turn to help
you, buddy."
"No sweat, Zapper. We've got another group coming in though."
Feldar nodded. "Storm, Razor, we need your help over here. We've got
another group coming in, and it looks vicious."
"Aye Zapper," came the replies. "Zapper" was Feldar's call name. Feldar
smiled. As long as they stayed sharp, they could win this battle.
**REUNION--BRIDGE**
"Pizman's Bajoran-type raiders are decimating the Shadow fighter groups
as they come in," remarked Laz from the science station.
Wes nodded, but a bit skeptically. "Yes, but we need to stay vigilant.
I know the fighters aren't much of a threat, but..." His comment was cut
off by a cheer that came from the bridge crew. They had killed another
Shadow ship.
Wes continued. "But enough of them could stifle a ship from maneuvering.
One could even kamikaze our ship." Wes became so engrossed in the battle
that he barely noticed the turbolift doors open, and a burly green-brown
figure rush across the bridge and tackle Lwaxy, who was helping jam the
opposing ships.
Wes turned and was horrified to see Tosk brutally maul Lwaxana and
bash her in the head. And then, Tosk casually dropped her to the floor
and went for his next target--one of the clowns.
He never got there. Phaser shots from three directions hit Tosk at
once. Wes was one of the shooters.
Wes rushed to Lwaxy's side, but he couldn't find a pulse when he got
there. She wasn't breathing either. "Crusher to sickbay, beam Lwaxy to
a bed immediately." He hit his badge again. "Crusher to transporter room,
beam Tosk to the brig."
Both vanished in a sparkle of light. Wes looked at the spot Tosk had
occupied a moment ago. "Morden's doing, no doubt," he murmurred to himself.
"Bridge, this is sickbay. I'm afraid Lwaxana was dead on arrival. There
was nothing I could do."
Wes's heart sank. He couldn't believe that Lwaxana's life had been
stamped out...just like that...by one of his own crew. What would the cost
be in the long run?
"Sir! Twenty Shadow ships have become unjammed."
Wes turned to see the horrifying view. If this was the result of Lwaxy
being killed, the cost could end up being the galaxy.
Part 29: By Sela's Son
**KEDANYA SHELTERS**
Bashiar now entered the fray. Weeping. Wailing. Moaning. Dr. Bashier
weaved through the crowd, trying to assit the sick and the injured. His
overworked Medical teams were in there to. Hundreds maybe a few thousand
refugees cramped Kedanya, along with more ships outside with Refugees of
thier own. Outside the sheltars a panal overloades sending smoke and sparks
all over. Klazons then went off.
**SA'TOTH II**
Klaxons screeched. Alarams rangs. This bridge was damaged, Heavily.
Wires and tubing layed loose from the ceiling, a metal beam had already
crashed down and killed a Romulan. Smoke filled the rooom. Sela's Son with
blood coming from the side of his lip looked around. The Vorlon enhancements
allowed him a holographic view of the battle around him, he watched 20
Shadow ships start moving loose from thier jam. Joia handled the First
officer's console, she had taken over tactical from there. "Bring us about.
Lock weapons on the Shadow ship. FIRE!"
The Sa'toth II swung about, and fired a few green disruptor beams,
then a powerfull beam of Vorlon design. Some other ships also came in along
side the Sa'toh II and fired. Then three Plasma torpedoes left thier bays
and hit the shadow ship dead on. The Shadow ship crumpled, withered. It
was dying. Another shadow ship flew past the Sa'toth emitting a
mindscreach. It fired on a nebula, carving it up in the Saucer area
eventually causing and overload in the warp core, and the module. The Nebula
class ship blew up. An Oberth which had survived so far, f |
